WPeMatico RSS Feed Receiver to show you how to get started. Go to your WordPress website, navigate to: Plugins > Add NewSearch for WPeMatico and install and activate the plugin.
After activating it, you will notice that a new item – WPeMatico – has appeared in the website’s dashboard menu. Click on it and you will see four different options to explore – Extensions, Settings, Add New and All Campaigns. You don’t need to visit Extensions options unless you plan to purchase addons for the addon. However, in Settings, you can set general rules for media content storage, which can be useful.
The plugin does a great job of explaining what each setting does. These exclamation points in red circles bring up tooltips when you hover over them. They will help you navigate easily through the rest of the options. There are several features you can turn on, some advanced fetch options, timer and backend settings.
It would be better if you do not forget the menus on the right. One of the menu cards you will find here is the Advanced Action card.
If you want to skip the tweaking of settings and switch to automatic blogging, go to Add New. The Add New Campaign Wizard will help you easily create your new campaign. – you will see the red button at the top of the page.
But let’s walk through the campaign setup process. You start by giving your campaign a name and choosing the correct campaign type under the Campaign Type options card, which is the first card on the right side of the screen.
Next, you must add the link to the feed you want to use for the autoblog. Under the Posts for This Campaign options, click the blue button that says “+Add Post”. Paste the link of the feed in the field that appears, press the small checkmark button to check if the feed is working. If there is, the plugin will parse it and you can add other feeds as well.
Take a look at the options window before updating the campaign to see the changes. For example, you will find that you can set the maximum number of items to be created in a single fetch. You will also notice that, among other things, you can choose to use the date and time of the feed, enable pingbacks and trackbacks, and omit all HTML tags from the content.
Next up are the timing options. You can choose how often the plugin brings the feeds (from every five minutes to once a month). The plugin offers some pre-selected programs that can be extremely useful for understanding how the timer works. The ubiquitous exclamation points and clues they uncover will also be there to guide you.
The following options allow you to override general settings for images, audio, video and duplicate controls. You can have a different media settings configuration for each campaign.
The last menu will allow you to use the post templates to replace the content you bring from RSS feeds. Here you can, for example: Add it to the original content if it doesn’t include the URLs by default.
Finally, you will see a few options and settings on the right side of the page. You can use them to add quotes, create a diary that you can email to yourself, create tags, and select categories. Most importantly, this is where you choose the publishing options – what type of posts you want and the status of your posts after they are published.
Once you hit the Publish button, your campaign will be saved and ready for distribution. Go to All Campaigns in the WPeMatico dashboard and use the control to set the campaign to run once or let the timer do its thing.
