Good news for Threads users, Meta is trying to add some more functionality to the app to persuade X users to abandon Elon Musk’s social network. One of the new features is the edit button. This means users won’t need to republish a new post whenever they want to fix an error.
Adam Mosseri, head of Instagram, said users you will have up to five minutes to edit a post. To highlight this delay, the app will display a countdown timer above an editable message.
The problem is that Threads does not show message change history. This undermines transparency, especially if someone significantly alters the content of a post that is rapidly gaining popularity.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg stated that Threads has also added the ability to publish audio clips. These offer “karaoke-style transcription.” We also know that Threads is working on a new “Trending” category where we can find all the trending topics.
Overall, this is a big win for Threads and a huge incentive for new users to join the platform and existing users to become more active. The team seems to be listening to users’ feedback and slowly but surely giving them the features they want. Although the application exceeded 100 million users in just 4 days, its popularity dropped rapidly. Therefore, new features should increase user interaction.
