After installing the Hustl app, you need to set the preferences for recording different types of time-lapse videos. Here is how you can set it up and configure it to record time-lapse videos according to your need and convenience.

Stage 1: Start Hustl and you will see it running silently in the Menu bar.

Step 2: Click on the Hustl icon. Select the gear icon to launch a dropdown menu and select Preferences from it.

Stage 3: Go to the Recording tab.

This is where the main settings are, which will allow you to fine-tune your time-lapse video.

Let’s understand the different settings to set your expectations and choose suitable options for videos.

Below this section you will need to select the Seconds time between shots when making a time-lapse recording. It means the interval between shots to determine the speed of the final video. The app lets you choose one of seven interval seconds settings – 1, 2, 5, 10, 15, 30 or 60 seconds.

After that, you need to select the Recording quality between normal and maximum. As mentioned in the window, Maximum quality can force your MacBook’s fan (if it has one) to run faster than normal.

There is one important option – Always set the crop area to full screen. Select the checkbox if you want to record all events such as access to different menu options and the clock in the upper right corner. Otherwise, you’ll have to settle for just a cropped or selected look, which is entirely up to you. So, if you leave the box unchecked, the app will open with a customizable box to set the area of ​​your Mac’s screen you want to record.

This area will help you with the final output of your time-lapse. You can choose between 12, 24, 30 or 60 frames per second when you need to export the video. Yes, you can predefine in which FPS you want to save your accelerated speed.

Of course, you can choose the resolution ranging from 480p to 8K from the drop-down option. Choosing a higher resolution and higher frames per second means your Mac will have to work extra hard and make sure you select the appropriate options.

Currently, you can only choose between MP4 and MOV file types. Fortunately, these are universally accepted video formats.
