Snapchat notifications are undeniably important as they alert you to every new snap, message, and story to ensure you never miss a moment. Ideally, you should receive notifications from Snapchat as soon as they arrive. Unfortunately this is not the case, as users often complain about not getting notifications for some reason. And the problem seems to be much more prominent among iPhone users than anyone else.
Usually, such issues are only caused by misconfigured settings or application issues. Either way, this post will discuss all the possible reasons for Snapchat notifications not working with their solution. So, let’s go inside.
1. Check Notification Settings
If you are not getting notifications from Snapchat, the first thing you should check is whether the app is allowed to push notifications on your iPhone. Here’s how to do it.
Stage 1: Launch the Settings app on your iPhone and scroll down to find the Snapchat app from the list.

Step 2: Go to Notifications and turn on the switch next to Allow Notifications if it’s not already on. Also, make sure the app is allowed to push notifications on the lock screen and notification center.

Besides checking iPhone’s notification settings, you should also verify Snapchat’s in-app notification settings to make sure it’s enabled. Here’s how.
Stage 1: Launch Snapchat on your iPhone. Now click on the profile icon at the top and tap the gear icon to open the app settings.

Step 2: Next, go to Notifications. Now tap on the Enable Notifications button. You can further configure your notification preference by exploring the options below.

2. Sign Out and Sign In
Let’s say you don’t get notifications on Snapchat even though you have it enabled. In this case, you can now try logging out of Snapchat and logging in again to see if you can get notifications. Oddly enough, this method worked for a lot of people while fixing the notification issue on Snapchat.
3. Enable Background App Refresh
Background app refresh is a feature on iPhone that allows apps like Snapchat to run in the background, and you’ll get push notifications for such apps. You can enable Snapchat to use data in the background by following the steps below.
Stage 1: Open Settings app on your phone, go to General and go to Background App Refresh.

Step 2: Scroll down and make sure the switch next to Snapchat is enabled.

4. Check the Focus Settings
Focus mode feature silences unwanted notifications on your iPhone so you can concentrate on the task. You may have accidentally enabled Focus mode, which prevents Snapchat from sending alerts. Here’s how to disable it.
To disable Focus mode on iPhone, open Settings app and go to Focus. Now tap on Do Not Disturb.

Then turn off the switch next to Do Not Disturb.

If you don’t want to turn off Focus mode, you can also add Snapchat as an exception to receive notifications from the app even when Do Not Disturb mode is active.

5. Clear App Cache
Like most apps, Snapchat stores temporary data on your phone in the form of cache. Although the data is intended to help improve the performance of the application, it can cause a problem when corrupted. So, you can try cleaning it to see if it helps.
While iPhone doesn’t allow you to clear cache data for any app, luckily Snapchat has an option within the app that lets you clear cache. Here’s how to access it.
Stage 1: Open settings in Snapchat.
Step 2: Scroll down to Account Actions and tap on Clear Cache. Press Clear when prompted.

Once cleaned, restart the app to see if the issue is now resolved.
6. Update Snapchat
Snapchat is a very popular app. So if the issue is with the current app version you’re using, it won’t take long for the developers to release a fix. You can try upgrading to the latest version of the app to see if that fixes the issue.
7. Reinstall Snapchat
Finally, you can also try reinstalling the app. The application may have encountered a problem during the update or there may be some corrupt data associated with the application. In such cases, reinstalling the app should do the trick.
Don’t Miss Any Moment
Missing important alerts is never fun. After all, it’s probably the last thing you want to break your fast streak that has been going on for hundreds of days. Follow the steps above and Snapchat’s notification issue will definitely be fixed.
