Whenever a major update for an operating system drops, there are bound to be issues and bugs. Especially when you’re Apple and serve millions of iPhone users with annual iOS updates. One of the common problems is related to the battery life of the device. Another issue that has been spreading well lately is related to the default keyboard on the iPhone. Sometimes, during a conversation or general navigation, the default keyboard does not disappoint users.
Default keyboard not showing up on iPhone is a bigger problem if it happens frequently throughout the day. It disrupts the workflow and reduces productivity for the end user.
If you are suffering from the same issue, read the post to find possible troubleshooting tricks to fix iPhone keyboard error.
1. Hard Reset Your iPhone
Restarting iPhone is one of the oldest and most effective ways to fix common problems. Press and hold the Home and Power On/Off buttons simultaneously for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple logo on the screen.
To hard reset your iPhone 7/7 Plus, you need to press and hold the volume down button and the Power button at the same time.
To reset your iPhone 8/8 Plus or later, press and release the Volume Up button, press and release the Volume Down button, and then press and hold the side button.
2. Turn Off Bluetooth
If you are using an external keyboard with iPhone and forgot to disconnect it, your iPhone will continue to search for the Bluetooth keyboard.

Make sure the iPhone’s Bluetooth is turned off and not connected to any external keyboard.
Swipe down from the top-right corner to open Control Center and turn off Bluetooth. Alternatively, you can go to iPhone Settings > Bluetooth and turn the option off.
3. Reset All Settings
As the name suggests, this option resets all settings on your iPhone. It deletes all your customized settings including automatic overrides from the last iOS update that caused some conflicts with your iPhone’s keyboard settings.
Follow the steps below to Reset All Settings on iPhone.
Stage 1: Open the Settings app on iPhone.

Step 2: Go to General > Reset > Reset All Settings. Confirm your action by adding password and iOS will reset all settings on iPhone.
4. Switch to Default Apple Keyboard
Apple has opened the doors of third-party keyboard apps in the App Store. We have some of the best keyboard apps on iPhone like SwitftKey and Google Keyboard.
These keyboard apps work perfectly on modern iPhones with 3GB/4GB RAM. However, if you are using a third-party keyboard app on older devices with 1GB or 2GB RAM, you will notice that the iOS system kills such apps in the background to free up RAM for smooth iOS navigation.
In such cases, it is recommended to revert to the default keyboard on iPhone. Follow the steps below to change the default keyboard on your device.
Stage 1: Open the keyboard in any conversation.
Step 2: Tap the Globe icon in the lower left corner.

Stage 3: Switch from the current keyboard to the default keyboard.
If the system still occasionally pops up the third-party keyboard for you, it’s time to delete the iPhone’s third-party keyboard. Long press the app icon and select delete from the popup menu.
5. Switch to Default Password Manager
Similar to keyboard apps, iOS has Enpass, 1Password, Dashlane etc as default way to autofill login details on iPhone. It also lets you set up third-party password managers, such as
The chosen password manager replaces iCloud Keychain on iPhone and offers integration above the default iPhone keyboard. If there are any problems with the selected third-party manager, it may interfere with the general keyboard functions. In such cases, you can revert to the default iCloud Keychain service for hassle-free autofills.
Stage 1: Open the Settings app on iPhone.
Step 2: Scroll down to Passwords.

Stage 3: Go to AutoFill Passwords and select iCloud Keychain from the menu below.
Now you will not get frequent keyboard showing no problem on iPhone.
6. Check Device Battery Health
All iPhone models come with lithium-ion batteries. Due to its chemical nature, it supports selected charge cycles in the device. In other words, if you have been using the iPhone for 4-5 years, the battery capacity of your device may be around 50-60%.
You can check battery health in device Settings > Battery > Battery Health. If it is a low number, it may affect daily operations on iPhone, including the default keyboard.

The battery problem causes one to go to the nearest Apple center to replace the old one with a new one.
7. Update iPhone
The iPhone keyboard not showing issue could be due to the buggy update released by Apple. After all, the company just doesn’t have the best time to release quality updates. The good news is that Apple is quickly fixing critical issues with a bug fix update.

On iPhone, open the Settings app and go to General > Software Update and download the latest firmware update to the device.
