Many keep their phones on vibrate mode so as not to disturb everyone around us with constant notification sounds and incoming calls. Enabling vibration also helps identify a call or alert in a noisy environment. However, many iPhone users are complaining that their iPhone is not vibrating.
If you’re wondering what keeps your iPhone from vibrating, you’re in the right place. We’re going to show you some settings and troubleshooting fixes you can try to get your iPhone to vibrate again.
Before moving on to the solutions, it is recommended to check the vibration motor on your iPhone. To do this, toggle the Ring/Silent switch located on the left side of your iPhone. If you feel a vibration while turning it back and forth, you can make sure that the vibration motor on your iPhone is working well and start applying the solutions below.
1. Enable Vibration
When your iPhone stops vibrating, the first thing you should do is check if vibration is enabled. It’s worth checking out before moving on to the other solutions on the list.
To enable vibration on iPhone, open the Settings app and go to Sounds & Haptics. Under Vibrate, turn on the switches next to ‘Vibrate on Ring’ and ‘Vibrate on Silent’.

Now go ahead and see if the vibration works now.
2. Check the Vibration Pattern
If vibration is not working even after enabling, you can check the set vibration pattern. This is because your iPhone will not vibrate if you choose to keep the vibration pattern as None.
Here is how you can change the vibration pattern of iPhone.
Stage 1: Launch the Settings app and go to Sound & Haptics. Now tap on Ringtone and go to Vibrate.

Step 2: Now choose a new vibration pattern for your iPhone.

3. Check Accessibility Settings
In addition to enabling vibration from the Sound settings, for your iPhone to vibrate, you must also enable vibration in the Accessibility settings. Read on to find out how.
Stage 1: Open the Settings app on your iPhone and go to Accessibility.

Step 2: Scroll down there and turn on the Vibrate option.

Now check and see if iPhone vibrates.
4. Turn off Do Not Disturb
Do Not Disturb is a useful feature on iPhone that completely silences your phone. When enabled, it won’t let your iPhone ring or vibrate for calls, alerts, and notifications you receive. So you can make sure that Do Not Disturb mode is disabled on your iPhone.
To turn off Do Not Disturb, swipe down from the top-right corner of the screen to bring up the Control Center. Now click on the crescent icon to disable Do Not Disturb.

5. Restart Your iPhone
If your iPhone does not vibrate even after changing the above settings, you can try restarting it. Press and hold the power button and use the slider to turn your iPhone off to restart it. Wait a minute or two and then turn your iPhone back on.
6. Update iOS
Sometimes the vibration issue on iPhone can be caused by a faulty iOS update or incorrect installation. The good news is that Apple is usually quick when it comes to releasing fixes. So, you can try updating your iPhone to the latest version available.
To check for updates, open the Settings app on your iPhone and go to General. Now tap on Software Update to download and install any pending updates.

7. Reset Your iPhone
If every solution above fails to fix the vibration issue, you should consider resetting your iPhone. Doing so will reinstate all preferred settings on your iPhone, including your Wi-Fi passwords and local settings. Your contacts, calendar, and other personal data will remain intact, provided you sync them all with iCloud.
Read on to learn how to reset your iPhone.
Stage 1: Open the Settings menu, go to General and tap Reset.

Step 2: Next, tap Reset All Settings and you will be prompted to enter your password. Once confirmed, all settings will be reset to default.

If you want to put everything together, you can choose to erase all data and content when resetting your iPhone and start from scratch. Before that, it is recommended to backup your data first.
