Following the iOS 15 update, iPhone users will notice a new section called shared with you in default iPhone apps. Shared With You on iPhone

As the name suggests, Shared With You is a section in Apple apps that displays media content that other people have shared with you over iMessage. It collects all shared media from iMessage conversations and displays them in a single partition in supported apps.

So you no longer need to scroll through hundreds of iMessages to find the perfect music recommendation from your friends or family. To see the shared music tracks, simply open the Apple Music app and go to the Shared With You section. Pulls all shared Apple Music links from all iMessage conversations.

Check What’s Shared With You in Safari

Safari on iPhone is highly customizable. You need to enable the Shared With You toggle from the browser.

If you want to check all web links shared from Safari, you can do so easily. Here’s how.

Stage 1: Open Safari on iPhone.

Step 2: Go to the Edit menu from the Safari home page.

Stage 3: From the menu below, enable shared with you change.

Step 4: Return to the home screen and you can check all shared links from iMessage conversations.

You will see the shared link and the name of the person with their profile picture in it. You can always go to the same Shared With You menu and check the links.

Control What’s Shared with You in the Photos App

Shared With You is most useful for the Photos app on iPhone. If you receive tons of pictures or media files over iMessage conversations, you can check them from one source in the Photos app.

Stage 1: Open the Photos app on iPhone.

Step 2: By default, it will open the Library menu.

Stage 3: Go to the For You menu and scroll down.

Step 4: You will find the Shared With You section and check all media files shared by iMessage contacts.

Control What’s Shared With You on Apple Music

If you are in the habit of sharing or receiving Apple Music files via iMessage threads, you can find them in the Shared With You menu in the Apple Music app.

Open Apple Music app on iPhone and now you will find Apple Music shared links from Listen menu.

Shared with You on Apple TV

This is another app that takes advantage of the Shared With You functionality. Sometimes, checking Apple TV connections from iMessage chats gets crowded and takes time. Instead, you can browse them from the app.

Stage 1: Open Apple TV on iPhone.

Step 2: Scroll down from the Watch Now menu.

Stage 3: You’ll find the Shared With You section and browse for TV shows recommended by others.

Disable Shared With You

If you are not a fan of Shared With You functions (there are many reasons for this), you can easily disable Shared With You on iPhone or individual apps. Here’s what you need to do.

Stage 1: Open the Settings app on iPhone.

Step 2: Go to the Messages menu.

Stage 3: Open the Shared With You section.

Step 4: Disable Shared With You for irrelevant apps.

Limitations Shared with You

• Shared With You only works when media content and links are shared over iMessage. If you receive a relevant link from a WhatsApp or Telegram chat, the relevant content will appear in the Shared With You section.
• The functionality is limited to Apple apps only. Shared With You is not supported on Spotify, Netflix, or Prime Video.
• Still buggy. Additionally, Apple has embedded Shared with You in Apple Music and Apple TV, making it harder for users to find it.
