Stories and Messages are One
When it comes to friends, you will see their information on one page. This new space is where messages and stories will live side by side. This will be a big change and it can be a tough transition if you use Snapchat messages to stay in touch with your friends. Snapchat will put your best friends content at the top, which can help users stay tuned and lead to a better overall experience. Groups will now have a Snapchat Group Story anyone can add, along with messaging that happens in groups.
Snapchat Story Changes
If you like watching a lot of Snapchat Stories in a row, the new Snapchat update will offer a much better experience. At the end of a story like last year, you won’t have to choose which story you want to watch.
Now when a Snapchat Story ends, you’ll see a quick screen telling who their next story is. You can swipe to skip their story or swipe down to exit the Story and return to the home screen.
Discover Snapchat Changes
As Snapchat co-founder and CEO Evan Spiegel explains in the video above, they’re changing the Explore section to focus more on creators and keep your friends in the other tab. It’s an interesting change, especially considering that Snapchat is monetized that way.
Part of this new update will allow you to not only follow creators but also see less creators, which will help you educate Snapchat on what you want to see in the Discover tab. Similar to how using Facebook and YouTube affects your feed and recommendations, this will help you get more out of this section.
