Mophie Powerstation Review: Reserve, 2X and 8X 1

Mophie Powerstation Review: Reserve, 2X and 8X

This Mophie Powerstation review combines three different sizes into one so you can see how well batteries perform and which one suits you best.

While the Mophie Powerstation 8x review focuses on my Thanksgiving trip and how I survived a power outage, the smaller and easier-to-carry Mophie Powerstation 2X and Mophie Power Reserve 1X are great everyday companions.

shoppers Mophie Power Reserve 1X Available in five colors for $34.95 with a 2,600mAh battery. this Mophie Power Station 2X $59.99 with a 4,000mAh battery and Mophie Power Station 8X $149.95 with a 15,000mAh battery.

All these portable batteries come with a small Micro USB charger, but not built-in so you can use them with any USB charging device. I started using the Mophie Power Reserve 1X to charge my Apple Watch and sometimes my iPhone. These batteries use a standard USB port so you can charge anything from a wearable or controller to your iPhone, Android or tablet.

The Mophie Powerstation 2X is the perfect choice for slipping into a pocket or bag to charge my stuff, or charging someone else’s gear when it’s running low. I particularly enjoy the Mophie Powerstation 8X because its Bluetooth connectivity lets me know how much power is left by looking at an app on my phone, and the massive battery makes it a great companion to carry in my computer bag wherever I go. The only way it would be better is if it can charge my MacBook.

Mophie Powerstation 8X Review

Even power users who consume battery life like oxygen will get a long way from the Mophie Powerstation 8X. This 15,000mAh battery and dual USB ports including a fast charging port offer an impressive amount of power in a slim design. The battery charges with a Micro USB cable.

The Mophie Powerstation 8X offers a massive charge and connects via Bluetooth to let you know how much power is left.

With Bluetooth connectivity, users can check the Mophie power app to see how much battery life is left, and even get notifications before the battery runs out.

I used the Mophie Powerstation 8X to charge my iPhone during Thanksgiving, which starts at 7am and lasts until 2am. I could have used a Mophie that blamed me, but at least this kept my phone on as I left my Brother-in-law home and set off on the return trip.

This hasn’t taxed the Powerstation 8X too much, so I haven’t plugged it into the charger yet. I put it in my bag and used it to charge the Droid Maxx 2 at a cafe this week. The Mophie Powerstation 8X has two ports, and one of them is covered in green, giving power fast enough to meet the Droid Maxx 2’s fast charging option.

The Mophie Powerstation 8X can charge two devices at once, one at very high speeds.

I almost forgot about the battery, until later that night a problem left our town without electricity. I plugged my nearly-depleted iPad Air 2 into the green fast-charge port and charged it to around 70% so I could at least watch a movie when it was out of charge.

I was ready to use this to charge my iPhone overnight, but just before 11 PM the power came on so I didn’t need it. After all that I still have 23% battery life left – enough for me to charge my iPhone multiple times.

An incredible amount of power, Bluetooth notifications and fast charging make this a great combination.

Mophie Powerstation 2X Review

The Mophie Powerstation 2X is a slightly different battery. This smaller version is easier to fit in a pocket when you go out.

It’s a product to carry in my jacket pocket or hoodie pocket when I go out at the end of a busy day and think I might need more power.

It won’t charge multiple devices at once with a single USB port, but with enough for two charges of the iPhone, you can share a charge with someone else if they need to.

The Mophie Powerstation 2X supports fast charging, and if you charge it while charging something connected to it, like the 8X, your device will charge first.

Mophie Power Reserve 1X

The Mophie Power Reserve 1X is small, portable and colorful.

A smaller option is the Mophie Power Reserve 1X, which is the size of a large lipstick tube. I used this to charge my Apple Watch overnight when our power went out. After charging the Apple Watch from 50% to 100% and keeping it charged all night, the Mophie Power Reserve 1X still has 50% battery life left.

The Mophie Power Reserve 1X is a good choice if you’re looking for a battery option always with you. Its small size makes it a great option to carry around in your car, backpack or purse, and it has just enough battery life. It has a charging port and a microUSB port for charging.

You may not need all of these batteries, but now you can choose the size and features you need to stay charged and connected.

You may not need all of these batteries, but now you can choose the size and features you need to stay charged and connected.

I use these three Mophie batteries in addition to the Mophie iPhone 6s juice Pack Reserve case. Most days iPhone 6s battery life is adequate, but on busy days I need Mophie Juice Pack Reserve and on crazy days or travels I need Mophie Powerstation 8X or similar. Whether you use your smartphone for work or play, running out of battery is a real problem, but with the right accessories, it’s not.
