Mac M3: Apple can finally increase the amount of RAM memory in all their computers

Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman not only announced the arrival of a new Apple Watch X in his new Power On newscast, but also announced changes to the company’s computers equipped with the upcoming M3 chip. Since the introduction of the M1 chip in 2020, Apple’s Mac lineup has 8GB of Unified RAM in the base configuration, but that may change soon.

Indeed, the journalist states: MacBook Pro models with M3 Pro and M3 Max chips currently being tested are equipped with 36 and 48 GB of combined RAM. Thanks to this information, YouTuber Vadim Yuryev realized that: this means that the base M3 model can be equipped with 12GB of combined RAM.instead of the current 8GB.

Apple may upgrade to 12GB of combined RAM on M3 Macs

If Apple decides to offer a base configuration of 12GB of RAM for the M3 Macs, it will be a good thing for Mac fans as they will be able to enjoy more powerful computers without having to spend more money to upgrade to a more efficient configuration.

While 8GB of combined memory is still sufficient for most simple tasks most users can perform on their machines, Resource-intensive software and creative applications require large amounts of RAM to run optimally. A higher base configuration can reduce the need for instant upgrades.

Many users are advocating for increased storage options, including a switch from the current 256GB base storage to the more generous minimum of 512GB. However, no one should have the right to such a change in this new generation of computers equipped with the M3 chip. , expected for October. So it will be necessary to wait until 2024 to see the arrival of models equipped with M3 Pro and M3 Max processors.
