During the next iOS 17.2 update, which is currently available in beta on compatible iPhones, Apple plans to introduce a new feature to Apple Music. These are collab lists that do exactly what their names suggest: Create playlists with others.
This isn’t the only major change that iOS 17.2 will make, as we expect Apple to allow downloading apps from third-party stores. While we wait for its official launch for everyone, we would like to remind you that iOS 17.1 is already available and brings a lot of new features.
Collaborative playlists in Apple Music: how does it work?
To use the new collaboration lists, make sure you’re running iOS 17.2 beta. Afterwards, Just follow the guide below step by step:
- Start the application Apple Music on you iPhone or iPad.
- Go to tab Library Tap at the bottom of the screen and playlists.
- Create a new playlist. Unfortunately, collaborative playlists don’t work with Apple Music playlists you’ve already saved.
- Tap the three dots (…) in the upper right corner of the screen.
- From the menu “Collaborate“This is the second option from the top.
- Decide whether collaborators need approval before making changes or whether they can participate directly.
- press “Start collaboration”To send invitations to collaborators of your choice.
- If necessary, tap the ellipsis icon (…) and click “Manage collaboration“.
Now you and your friends can collaborate to create the ultimate playlist full of your favorite songs. Apple reminds you that anyone you share the public playlist link with can share that list. edit songs, rearrange them and even change the name and photo of the playlist.
