Apple recently unveiled a new version of the iPhone operating system iOS 16 at its annual developer conference WWDC 2022. While Apple has added many features to its smartphones, such as editing or deleting chats in Messages or quickly removing duplicate photos, the update that cluttered the Gallery doesn’t seem to have affected users on Android.
Indeed, our colleagues from Android Central interviewed their readers after the Apple conference. When asked if iOS 16 will migrate platforms to iPhone, Android users overwhelmingly explained that the update won’t have them. not convinced to replace the smartphone.
iOS 16 disappoints users on Android
Based on 13,893 community votes, almost 63% said they will stay on Android. However, around 24% of users said they were curious about what’s new in iOS 16, while 13% of voters already owned an iPhone.
The features of IOS 16 therefore could not convince Android smartphone users. Many laughed at Apple’s innovations, accusing it of duplicating features that have been in Android for several years. Indeed, in iOS 16 for example, Apple introduced the possibility of customizing the lock screen, a feature that has been available on Android for a very long time. Apple has also finally introduced Nintendo Switch Joy-Con compatibility to iPhones.
Again, All the new features of iOS 16 are not simply copies of what Android already does so well. Apple specifically announced that security patches will now be automatically installed on iPhones, greatly increasing their security compared to competitors. Anyway, for now, Android users don’t seem to have much to envy Apple users in this new iOS 16 release. We hope Apple will return to the path of innovation for iOS 17 next year..
