Popular smartphone accessory maker Griffin has announced two new cases that aim to protect not just our smartphone screens, but our hardware. The new Griffin Survivor backpack and briefcase debuted at CES 2016 in Las Vegas, and here are the details.
When it comes to purchasing accessories for an iPhone, Griffin is a popular name among many who love the Survivor series. But this week, the popular Survivor line has been expanded to two new bags that can protect 15-inch laptops, tablets and more from the same drops as a typical smartphone case.
The Survivor Backpack and Survivor Briefcase are TSA compliant and provide crush and weather protection for laptops, tablets and other technologies, whether you’re heading to a meeting or hiking the trail.
There are countless backpacks or bags available from other popular accessory manufacturers that can carry a wide variety of devices, but Griffin wants to protect our equipment from drops, make getting through airport security easier and more in one go. These new bags are durable, weatherproof, and feature some serious design decisions to provide the ultimate in drop protection.
The Survivor backpack and briefcase can withstand drops from 6 feet and 4 feet, feature a TSA-approved and airport-friendly foldable design, and can all hold a 15-inch laptop and multiple devices. Everything inside has its own compartment, multiple accessory slots, and each device is fully protected by a durable design.
The main compartments are surrounded by an internal unbreakable plastic shell and honeycomb sidewalls that provide impact protection. The entire inner shell is also protected from rain, snow and sleet by weatherproof zippers. Essentially keeping our smartphones and gadgets within easy reach but safely secured in a bag for any occasion.
The backpack has more than 16 different pockets and compartments, ideal for those who need lots of space for their tools, gear, pens, chargers, cables and more. While the briefcase offers 10 different pockets. Survivor backpack sells for a high price $225 price tag, the briefcase retails for $189. Both will be available later this month.
