Apple iPhone 6s Silicone Case Review

Here’s a look at how the official Apple iPhone 6s silicone case feels, protects and looks on the new iPhone.

After using the leather iPhone case last year, I personally chose the Orange Apple Silicone iPhone 6s case, which looks way better than it looks in the photos. If you love orange, this is definitely a case to consider.

If you’re not a fan of orange, there are 10 more colors to choose from. It’s a very thin case, so it doesn’t add much to the thickness of the iPhone 6s – it’s also slightly thicker than the iPhone 6. If you want access to new colors, you can use these new cases on iPhone 6.

One of the nice things about this slim case is that when placed face down there is an edge that keeps the screen away from desks and other surfaces. This is something you can do more often thanks to a new iOS 9 feature that doesn’t light up the screen when facing down while Low Power Mode is on.

The edges keep the screen away from rough surfaces.

Raised edges do not interfere with the new iPhone 6s 3D Touch feature, which involves pressing the edge of the screen to activate multitasking and quick action home screen shortcuts.

Apple’s design gives full access to ports and buttons without any of the compromises common in slim cases like this. On the back is an Apple logo in a slightly different shade of orange, similar to the logo on the iPhone.

This silicone is much easier to grasp than an iPhone 6s without a case. It’s not too tight to put in or take out of a pocket, but after almost a week of use I’ve noticed that it catches a little more in the gym short pockets than it did on day one, so this is something I’ll do, stay tuned.

With a slim design, this won’t protect your iPhone 6s from major drops, but it makes the phone easier to hold and prevents scratches. Users who tend to drop their iPhone repeatedly may want to consider other options.
