9 Common iPhone 7 Problems and How to Fix them

The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are now the face of Apple’s iPhone lineup. The two devices feature some key changes from the 2015 models, including improved designs, cameras and performance. They also come with a new home button.

As we mentioned, iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus users are reporting a number of different issues with the two devices. Some, such as battery life issues, are common. Others, like the “No Service” error, are a little more unusual.

If you encounter an iPhone 7 problem, do not panic. Before you take your device to an Apple Store, you’ll want to try and fix the problem yourself.

How To Fix iPhone 7 Activation Issues

Activation issues are among the most common problems faced by new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus owners.

While the issues have subsided a bit since the iPhone 7 launch in September, we’re still seeing scattered reports of failed activations.

Fortunately, there are a few solutions you should try before taking your phone to an Apple Store or carrier location.

First, try replacing your new SIM card with the old one. If you can’t or fail, you’ll want to try activating your new iPhone 7 via iTunes. iTunes is more reliable than activating over a Wi-Fi network.

If you still can’t complete the process, you’ll want to make an appointment at an Apple Store or go to your local carrier store to see if they can fix it for you.

How to Fix iPhone 7 iCloud Restore Issues

We’ve seen reports of iPhone 7 models getting stuck while updating iCloud settings. If this happens to you, you will want to press and hold the Power button and Volume Down button for a few seconds and wait for the device to reboot. Once it restarts, try the operation again.

We’ve also seen complaints about iCloud Restore issues. To fix this, create a local backup on your computer and then restore it to your iPhone 7. This workaround worked for us and may work for you too.

Abnormal battery drain is a fairly common iPhone issue, so it wasn’t surprising to see complaints from new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus owners.

Before you pick up your phone or drastically change your settings, keep in mind that it can sometimes take a few days for iOS and a new iPhone to adjust. If you’re still noticing that the battery is dead after two days of use, you’ll want to take action.

How To Fix iPhone 7 Performance Issues

Sometimes it can take a few days for a new iPhone to settle in, so don’t do anything drastic until you’ve given the device and its software a few days to get on the same page.

How To Fix iPhone 7 Wi-Fi Issues

Wi-Fi problems are one of the most common iPhone problems and iPhone 7 users have already started having problems with their connection.

iPhone 7 Wi-Fi issues are plaguing iPhone users around the world, and we expect complaints to increase as more people reach for the regular model and the Plus model.

There are a few things you can try if Wi-Fi starts working on your iPhone 7. The first step is to research the router you are using. If you can.

If you can unplug the router for a minute, try that. If that doesn’t work you might want to look into a firmware update. You need to search online for your router model as the update process is not the same for every router.

If you’re pretty sure it’s not a router, there are a few things you’ll want to try on the iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus itself.

The first thing to do is forget about the network that is giving you trouble. Tap Settings > Wi-Fi > Choose your connection > Forget This Network at the top of the screen. This will forget the network and force you to re-enter the password, so make sure you have it on hand.

If that doesn’t work, try resetting your network settings. Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. The process will take a few seconds to complete and you will lose your known Wi-Fi passwords.

How To Fix iPhone 7 Bluetooth Problems

We’re also starting to hear about iPhone 7 Bluetooth issues. Bluetooth problems are extremely common iPhone problems and they can pop up at any time.

If you’re starting to experience Bluetooth problems, the first thing you’ll want to do is forget about the device that’s giving you trouble. To forget a Bluetooth connection on your iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus, tap Settings > Bluetooth > Select your connection using the circular blue i tab > Tap Forget This Device. Try connecting again.

If that doesn’t help reconnect your device to your speakers or headphones, it’s time to go a step further. Try resetting the network settings of your iPhone 7 first. Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This will take a few seconds and you won’t lose any data.

If that doesn’t work, try resetting all your settings. To do this go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. This will restore your settings to factory defaults so you will need useful Wi-Fi passwords. If you have customized a lot of settings on your iPhone, it may take some time to restore them.

If that doesn’t help your iPhone 7, your speaker, headphones, car etc. You’ll want to check your manual for Most products have manuals online, so do a quick Google search for your product and see what you find.

How to Fix iPhone 7 Sound Problems

Sometimes, the sound on our iPhone 7 got distorted. If this happens, there are several solutions to try.

First, try a simple reboot. Press and hold the power button and turn off the phone. Turn it back on and see if normal sound returns. This has worked for us in the past. You can also try doing a hard reset. Press and hold the Power Button and the Volume Down button at the same time.

If that doesn’t work, try turning Bluetooth off and on. Check the sound. If it’s still missing, try cleaning the Lightning Dock or any dust that might be blocking it.

You should also check your Side Ring/Silent switch to make sure it is set to the correct position. Maybe you accidentally poked it.

How To Fix iPhone 7 Randomly Restarting

iPhone random reboots are another common problem, and we’ve already experienced a couple on our AT&T iPhone 7 release.

If you’re not familiar with this common problem, it happens when the device turns itself off, shows the Apple logo, goes to the lock screen, and then reboots without warning. It’s a frustrating problem to say the least.

You will want to press and hold the Volume Down button and the Power button at the same time to exit a boot loop. The device will display the Apple logo and restart.

This usually gets rid of the problem, at least temporarily. If you’re seeing a few random reboots per week, you may want to bring your iPhone 7 to an Apple Store.

How To Fix iPhone 7 3D Touch Issues

Like the iPhone 6s, the iPhone 7 comes with 3D Touch. 3D Touch lets you press hard on the screen to open shortcuts and features.

iPhone 7 users say that 3D Touch sometimes launches too fast, and some are having trouble getting their various shortcuts to popup.

If you’re having trouble with 3D Touch, try adjusting the sensitivity of the feature. To do this go to Settings > General > Accessibility > go to 3D Touch and tap.

The default is set to medium, but you can change it to hard or light. You can test the sensitivity below to see what suits you best.

If that doesn’t fix your problem, try resetting your settings. Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. Your device will forget known Wi-Fi passwords but you will not lose any data.

How To Fix iPhone 7 Issues If Nothing Else Is Working

If nothing listed here works for your iPhone 7 issue, go to: Apple’s discussion forums and ask for help. There are tons of knowledgeable users out there. You can also contact Apple Support on Twitter.

If they can’t help and you don’t want to get up from your computer chair, you can try downgrading to a previous iOS version when available.

Apple usually keeps the downgrade loop open for a few weeks before closing it, so you need to act fast.

You can also choose to restore from a backup, assuming you have it. Here’s how to do it. You’ll want to set aside an hour or so to make sure you’re doing this correctly.

To restore from a backup:

1. Plug and .
