The new Apple TV has been around for a few months now, giving app developers plenty of time to roll out Apple TV apps, but here are seven Apple TV apps we’d like to see in the future.
The new Apple TV comes with an App Store where users can download third-party apps of their choice. The previous Apple TV model came with its own apps (or “channels” as they were called), and users could not delete or add any of them.
This time around, the Apple TV has a lot more capabilities, including the ability to play games using the included remote or a third-party MFi gamepad.
The remote has been completely redesigned and has a built-in trackpad as well as motion sensors for gaming that can take advantage of this technology.
All these features are great, but there are still some apps missing from the new Apple TV. Here are seven Apple TV apps we want to see in the future.
Amazon Instant Video
Most of the popular streaming services, including Netflix and Hulu, are available on the new Apple TV, but Amazon Instant Video is nowhere to be found.
Fortunately, Amazon says the streaming app will come to Apple TV at some point in the future, but we haven’t seen it yet.
While Amazon offers the streaming app on iPhone and iPad, it was never available on Apple TV, most likely because the company has its own streaming set-top box that competes with Apple TV, so having that privilege with Instant Video isn’t a bad idea. but it looks like Amazon will eventually give up.
Spotify
Although Apple Music is available on Apple TV, some users do not use it and rely on Spotify for their music needs.
The bad news is that there is no Spotify Apple TV app available. Sure, you can play Spotify music on your iPhone and AirPlay it on the new Apple TV and have the music play on your entertainment system.
However, it would be much easier to have a native Apple TV app and the ability to scroll through your Spotify music on your television.
hanger tv
Sling TV is the revolutionary television streaming service that lets you watch live TV and access a handful of channels for $20 a month, along with other packages that let you get more channels for a slightly higher monthly fee.
It would be really cool to see a Sling TV Apple TV app that lets you watch live television on your Apple TV without having to switch inputs.
However, we’re not sure if Sling will bring its service to Apple TV, but the opportunity is definitely there.
Face Time
FaceTime is a huge feature on iPhone and iPad, but it would be really cool if you could FaceTime your friends or family directly on your TV.
This saves you from having to hold your iPhone or iPad so it’s definitely a convenience, but the problem is your Apple TV will need to be hooked up to a camera somehow.
It’s possible that Apple will roll out a FaceTime camera that you can connect to the Apple TV and mount on your television, but we’re not sure if that’s something Apple will do.
Twitch
Live streaming video games are really popular right now and Twitch is one of the best live streaming services to do that and it would be great to see an Apple TV app.
The app lets you watch live streams directly on your TV, but having the ability to live stream your own gameplay while playing on Apple TV would also be great, opening up a whole new world of live video gaming.
IMDb
While Siri on Apple TV offers some of the features that IMDb has to offer, it would be really cool to have a full featured IMDb app on Apple TV.
Not only does it provide access to all kinds of TV show and movie information, it can also integrate directly into TV shows and movies you watch on your Apple TV and provide more information about the actors and actresses in a TV show or movie. when you need it.
more games
Apple TV has a handful of games to choose from, including some iPhone classics like Jetpack Joyride and Crossy Road. There are also some games exclusive to Apple TV, including Beat Sports.
However, it would be great to see game developers put more effort into Apple TV games and release more privileges or ports for some popular games.
For example, even though Modern Combat is available on the set-top box, it would be pretty cool to have the Call of Duty series on Apple TV. While we don’t see Black Ops III coming to Apple TV, it would be great to at least get some more games.
