An iOS 9 jailbreak has been released today, and if you want to get in on the fun, you can jailbreak your iPhone or iPad right now.
A jailbroken iPhone can do many cool things that you wouldn’t normally be able to do on a non-jailbroken device, such as making changes to the UI and installing apps that would otherwise be banned from the iTunes App Store.
Most experienced iOS users who know about jailbroken devices don’t think twice about jailbreaking their iPhone or iPad because it is quite natural for them. However, if you’re new to jailbreaking and have never jailbroken your iPhone or iPad before, it’s always a good idea to consider the pros and cons of doing so.
While jailbreaking has many benefits, it also has a few downsides that can cause problems for both you and your iOS device.
While jailbreaking is pretty easy and painless, that’s not the only hurdle you might face. In fact, jailbreaking your iPhone or iPad isn’t really a hindrance in the first place.
In any case, here are five reasons not to jailbreak iOS 9 on your iPhone or iPad.
All Jailbreak Tweaks Not Working
This isn’t a permanent reason why you shouldn’t jailbreak iOS 9 as the tweaks will be updated in the next few weeks, but right now, if you jailbreak your iPhone or iPad running iOS 9, you won’t have much choice. Choose from the tweaks you can install.
So which jailbreak tweaks work with iOS 9? There are a few that work well, but most of the popular jailbreak tweaks like Activator, F.lux, and Springtomize 3 don’t work at all with iOS 9 and need to be updated first.
However, that shouldn’t be the case in the coming weeks as it will take some time for jailbreak developers to update their tweaks to work with the new version of iOS 9. But for now, it might not be a good time to jailbreak your iPhone. or iPad in iOS 9.
No Mac Support Yet
As with every new jailbreak tool released, Pangu’s iOS 9 jailbreak doesn’t have a Mac version yet, so if you want to jailbreak your device, you’ll need a Windows machine to do so.
Sure, you can run a utility like Parallels to run Windows as a virtual machine on your Mac, but that’s not something we recommend for novice users.
As for when a Mac version will be released, that’s still up in the air, but we wouldn’t be surprised to see Pangu releasing a jailbreak tool for Mac at some point in the future.
iOS Instability
Perhaps one of the biggest reasons for not jailbreaking iOS 9 is iOS instability. Whenever you install new jailbreak tweaks, there is a chance that a tweak will mess with other aspects of iOS and cause problems.
It can go so far as to cause boot loops or sudden reboots in Safe Mode. Of course, experienced users can easily troubleshoot these issues, but if you’re a novice user, experiencing such issues can be a daunting experience.
That’s why we don’t recommend jailbreaking your iPhone or iPad unless you have the knowledge to troubleshoot the most horrific issues you can come across.
You Can’t Update iOS
When you jailbreak your iPhone or iPad, you should be really careful not to update to a newer version of iOS, especially if it’s not compatible with the current jailbreak.
While this isn’t a huge deal sometimes (such as updating from iOS 9.0.0 to iOS 9.0.2), if a major update such as iOS 9.1 is released, you may not be able to update in a jailbroken state. not compatible with update.
Some users can live with it, but others find it difficult to update to the latest version of iOS, so you will definitely need some discipline when a new update arrives.
void Warranty
While jailbreaking your iOS device is by no means illegal, it will void your device’s warranty.
The warranty provides protection when your iPhone or iPad breaks and needs repair; so when you take it to an Apple Store and they find out it’s jailbroken, they can’t do anything under warranty.
Of course, if you need to take your device for repair, you can restore it to factory settings and then re-jailbreak when you get home, but if they release a new iOS update, you may have to permanently lose your jailbreak. do not support jailbreak.
