5 Best SHAREit Alternatives for iOS and Windows

The use of file sharing applications is increasing. After all, not everyone prefers cloud storage solutions as they require a constant internet connection and take more time to get things done. So far, SHAREit and Xender have been our first recommendation for our readers. Recently, however, both software have become part of the debate over user privacy. We have already covered the best Xender alternatives in a separate post.

As for SHAREit, we have mentioned SHAREit alternatives for Android. What about iPhone and Windows users? iPhone and Mac users enjoy the tight integration of the Apple ecosystem with AirDrop functionality. But iPhone and Windows users have to rely on iTunes to transfer files offline.

Dealing with cables and not-so-good UI/UX with iTunes can be a cumbersome experience for end users. This is where file sharing software comes into play.

In this article, we are going to talk about the five best SHAREit alternatives for iOS and Windows. Go through the list and start sharing files from iPhone to Windows wirelessly and vice versa.

1. Zapya

Zapya looks and feels the same as SHAREit. I wouldn’t be surprised if you confuse the app as SHAREit at first glance. The app uses the standard bottom bar to navigate between features.

Go to the Files tab and grant the necessary permission to allow the app to read music, photos, videos and contacts.

There are several ways to connect your iPhone to Windows via Zapya. First, make sure that both the phone and the computer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Select the ‘Connect’ button in the middle and it will immediately scan for nearby device.

Unfortunately, Zapya does not offer the web version. For a successful connection, you need to download the Zapya Windows application. You can select media files on iPhone and choose send to transfer files to PC quickly. I like that Zapya offers a History tab that shows you what files you’ve sent to the desktop and which files you’ve received along with the time, date, filename, and size.

Zapya is free to use and available on iOS, Android, Windows and Mac.

2. AirDroid

I prefer AirDroid over Zapya because of its easy-to-use interface. AirDroid also offers web-based service, so you don’t need to download additional software on PC. The only requirement is an AirDroid account. You cannot use the AirDroid service without creating a new account.

AirDroid has been part of security vulnerabilities in the past. The firm took the necessary steps to fix the problems. Open AirDroid on iPhone and go to AirDroid web on PC.

Sign in with account login details, the software will display the media files on your PC. Open the media folder, select images/videos and hit the ‘Download’ button.

You can also install from PC to transfer files to iPhone. You will find the transfer history on AirDroid Web on iPhone.

AirDroid is free to use and available on iOS, Android, Windows, Mac, and the Web. Surprisingly, the AirDroid iOS app does not contain any ads.

3. Send Anywhere

I like Send Anywhere’s direct approach compared to its competitors. No need to connect other devices wirelessly or create an account like AirDroid. Select the files from the main screen and hit the ‘Send’ button.

The app generates a unique six-digit code. All you have to do is visit Send Anywhere on the web and add the six digit code. The code expires in ten minutes. After successful authentication, the service will download the selected files to the PC.

You can tap the ‘+’ icon on the web and add files to transfer them to iPhone. Send Anywhere also offers a desktop app, but you’ll be totally satisfied with the web version.

Send Anywhere is available on iOS, Android, Windows, Mac, Web and even Linux. The company also offers the service as an extension on popular browsers like Chrome and Microsoft Edge.

4. Readdle Documentation

So far, we’ve talked about apps and services that are direct alternatives to SHAREit on iOS and Windows. We will talk about a few file manager apps on iPhone that offer Wi-Fi streaming as add-ons. Documents by Readdle is a solid file manager on iPhone.

First you need to download the app from the App Store. Tap the ‘+’ icon at the bottom. Select the Import from PC option and it will ask you to navigate to a specific web URL on PC. Go to the Windows device and visit the web page.

Verify yourself and the app will open the files on the web menu. You can create new folders, browse photo albums, videos, and transfer media files using the Upload File button in the upper right corner.

Other features include a built-in browser, PDF viewer/editor, cloud sync, WebDAV server support, and more. The application is free to download.

5. File Manager and Browser

File Manager is a simple file manager for iPhone. The app offers sorting files, creating and extracting ZIP files, password protected files, multi-cloud support, integrated PDF reader, and more.

You can also transfer files from your PC/Mac using Wi-Fi. Open the app and go to Settings > Install with Wi-Fi Sync. The option will ask you to connect the iPhone to the web using a specific web address.

Go to your PC and use the web address and create a successful connection. Just make sure iPhone and PC are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Upload files from PC and you will see these files directly in iPhone File Manager app.

Ditch SHARE and Go…

Every SHAREit alternative has its pros and cons. Zapya works cross-platform but is full of ads. AirDroid is my first choice when working with my Windows laptop. I love Send Anywhere’s user interface and functionality. Finally, Documents by Readdle and File Manager offer clean Wi-Fi sync functionality as well as file management and PDF support.
