Experiment with the New Ultra Wide Camera
Use the new ultra-wide camera.
iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro include a new ultra-wide camera that can capture more of the scene around you. This is great for sharing a larger view. It can capture the grandeur of a landscape or set the scene for the perfect moment. This also allows you to get closer to a subject and take more photos in the frame at the same time.
Tap on the 0.5x camera option to switch to ultra-wide using the stock camera app on the new iPhone.
Power Up Your Selfie

The new selfie camera has a 12 MP sensor, but when you take a selfie in portrait orientation like most of us do, the sensor changes to 7 MP and a tighter shot.
If you want to capture more of the background and zoom out a bit, you can set the phone to landscape and then it will use the 12MP sensor and take a wider selfie.

You can also tap the arrows next to the shutter button to switch between 7MP and 12MP without changing the orientation.
Record Video While Taking Photos
Quickly record video while taking photos.
If you’re taking a photo and you’ve decided you prefer video, just hold down the shutter button; will go to video. From there, you can swipe up or right to lock it into video mode.
This is very useful when taking pictures of children, pets and sporting events. The camera app seems to shoot a small video before switching to video, possibly from the Live Photo start.

You need to change the way you take burst photos on iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro as holding down the shutter now turns into video. Instead of holding down the shutter, swipe down from the shutter and hold the button in the bottom or left area to take the shutter photos.
Take Ultra Wide Panorama
You can take panoramas with the Ultra-wide camera on new iPhones. This results in more distortion than the standard lens, but it’s a somewhat hidden feature on your iPhone that lets you change the way you take pictures.
Save More Than You See
Save your shot outside of the frame so you can recompose it later.
When taking pictures with a standard lens, you can switch to a new mode that will capture areas outside of the image. When recording with a wide lens, you can also record ultra-wide, so you can zoom out slightly on a photo or video to bring someone or something back into the frame. If you don’t edit and use the extra image, it will be deleted after 30 days.
Take 16×9 Photos to Capture More
Take photos in 16:9 aspect ratio.
Usually photos are taken in 4:3 or square format for Instagram. On newer iPhones, you can switch to the 16:9 aspect ratio, which lets you capture a slightly wider shot and a new aspect ratio.
Tap the arrow on the left of the screen or swipe left to open additional settings, then you can tap 4:3 and then 16:9.
Use Volume Buttons to Take Photos
My favorite iPhone camera trick is to use the iPhone volume buttons to take a photo. This is easier than finding the button on the screen in many situations and is great for reaching for the phone for a better angle or for better control when taking pictures when trying to take quick shots.
Use Night Mode
Use night mode on iPhone 11 or iPhone 11 Pro.
The new Night Mode automatically turns on in low light and takes longer exposures to bring much more detail to the photo. You will see a small, moon-like yellow icon next to the flash when this is active.
You can also tap this icon and then slide the control dial on the right side of the screen to set how long you take a photo in a night mode. Below you can see an example of night mode and non-night mode.

Add Tripod for Better Night Mode
Add a Tripod to upgrade the Night Mode.
If you add a tripod to the mix, you can increase the Night Mode up to 30 seconds. This only works with a tripod, as the iPhone detects motion and limits the length until you put the phone on a tripod or lean against something perfectly.

If you need to record super-smooth iPhone 11 video, use the ultra-wide lens and shoot at 4K 60 FPS. This creates a smooth look even when holding the phone in your hand.
You need to make sure 4K 60 FPS is turned on in your settings. go. Select the 0.5x zoom option to use the ultra-wide camera when you switch to video mode.
Use Both Portrait Mode Lenses
You can now take Portrait mode photos using the telephoto lens or the wide lens on the iPhone 11 Pro Max. This allows you to be more creative and use portrait mode to blur the background of a full person. Test this out when taking pictures of people by switching to portrait mode and then tapping the 2x icon in the bottom left to switch to 1x zoom and capture more people or scenes.
Take Pet and Object Portrait Photos

iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro now support using portrait mode for objects and pets. On older phones you can sometimes force portrait mode to work with pets, but this is now more optimized and can produce great results. Just turn on portrait mode and point your phone at a pet or object instead of a person. You can also apply many portrait mode effects.
Use More Than Standard Zooms
Use more than the normal zoom options.
If you tap on the zoom options, you can switch between 0.5x and 1x on the iPhone 11 and 0.5x, 1x and 2x on the iPhone 11 Pro or Pro Max. These are the only zoom options available on the new iPhones.
Press and hold the zoom options for a second and then you can slide the dial to zoom from 0.5x to 10x. Once you get past 1X on iPhone 11 or 2X on iPhone 11 Pro, you’ll be using digital zoom, which means loss of quality.

You can take a slow-motion selfie, i.e. a slofie, using the front-facing camera. Open camera, switch to front camera and then tap slow motion. You can now save a slofie. You can edit this like a standard slow motion video to adjust the timing and speed changes.
