2. When starting the application, you will be asked to enter your phone number so that you can identify yourself. You will then receive a code via SMS to use the service.

3. As soon as you start chatting with Text Secure, a padlock will appear below each message and in the login bar. tell you that the messages you send or receive are safe. Note that secure messages are displayed in blue and SMS/MMS in green.
