When we present ourselves an offer smart phone brand new, most of us want to pamper it. We buy it an original shell, a selfie stick and even install the latest version of the operating system. Some users also prefer screen protection to protect their precious touch screen, which is the most fragile and sensitive part of its anatomy.
Smartphone: choosing the right screen saver
First of all, it is important to choose the type of protection you will add to your phone. We recommend choosing the tempered glass protection so as not to affect the responsiveness of your touchscreen. It is also the most impact and scratch resistant material. You will need to pay between 5 and 10 € to get the best value for your money. Avoid 1€ or less protection, they are obviously poor quality.
Smartphone: clean your screen
Before doing anything, you should start by thoroughly cleaning your touchscreen. Bring a microfiber cloth and cleaning fluid for electronic devices for optimum cleaning. If you need advice, check out our tutorial on cleaning and keeping your smartphone free of dirt.
Before you tackle the installation of your guard, we recommend that you carefully clean your work surface to avoid traces of dirt and oil responsible for the notorious air bubbles. Avoid dusty or dirty surfaces for the following process.
Smartphone: remove the protective film
Time to get started! Follow the procedure below for a flawless, homogeneous and bubble-free application:
- Before gluing the glass, do a test, this will give you a better understanding of how to apply the protection.
- Gently peel off the protective tab attached to the top of the guard.
- Then gently place the glass on the screen, peeling off the rest of the tab. This is the most important moment of the pose.
- Set your protection. You have a few minutes before the movie is fully set. Enjoy! Use the physical buttons and sensors on the front of your phone to adjust the exposure.
Cheat : Before placing your film on all its edges, positioning wedge, like a bank card or toothpick you place on one or two corners of your smartphone. Its presence allows you to reposition your guard with a little more ease before fully investing it.
Smartphone: get rid of air bubbles
Even if you followed our advice to the letter, there may still be an air bubble or two between your screen and the shield. First of all, do not panic and do not remove the protection. Once peeled off, it will be even harder to reattach without bubbles. Bring your debit card back to get rid of those nasty bubbles. In this way, you will be able to scrape the bubbles and direct them outward.
Smartphone: remove the top film
Now all you have to do is remove the protective tab on the top of the tempered glass cover. If you notice that some dirt is still left under the glass a few minutes after installation, rest assured: these minor imperfections will disappear by themselves within 24 hours.
