How to Turn Off iPhone Notifications?

If you have an iPhone, you’ve probably gotten a few notifications at the time. You know, messages alerting you to things like email, Facebook friend requests, text messages, or a Twitter reply. Many apps use these push notifications, and with the release of iOS 5, Apple added something called Notification Center, which is a central hub for your notifications.

Although you probably already know, you can access it by swiping down from the top of the screen.

Well, for some of you these notifications can be more frustrating than helpful, and if that’s the case, we’re here to help you get rid of them for sure, if that’s what you really want to do.

We have to warn you, the process is a bit tedious as Apple now requires you to disable push notifications for each app. But luckily, you’ll only have to do this once.

If you can scroll down for what seems like an eternity, you’re on the right page. Apple has grouped this page into two categories.

Firstly . These are the apps that are currently opened in your Notification Center, as you might have guessed. There is a group included there by default.

If you want to disable them from appearing in Notification Center, you’ll want to go to each and flip the Notification Center switch to .

second . This is where the apps you disable will go. Eventually, every app on your iPhone should appear in this section.

Now here’s the scary part. You will need to go from app to app to make sure push notifications are turned off. Some, for example Facebook, show up in your Settings.

Go in, scroll down and tap to turn them all off.

This is just an example. Other apps will require you to open them then go to Settings within the app.

If you have a lot of apps, this may take some time.

After four and a half weeks, after going into the Settings of each app, there should be no notifications popping up on your iPhone and messing things up.
