This is likely unexpected for Elon Musk, who seems convinced that he has gained worldwide acclaim by acquiring Twitter. The backlash was only more severe when, via a poll on Monday, December 19th, users were asked whether he should step down as CEO of the company. People talked and “yes” won. Given the many controversies that have ensued after the billionaire’s devastating decisions since his arrival on Twitter, this result is hardly surprising.
Today, the latter has finally come out of his silence and confirmed that he is preparing to step down from his CEO position. Before that, Elon Musk still made it his mission to find a replacement. “crazy enough to take the job”. And he may have already found it. Indeed, in response to his tweet, he appears to have submitted a certain Tom Anderson nomination. But Tom Anderson is not just anyone: he is the creator of MySpace, one of the first social networks in history.
Tom Anderson could be Twitter’s new CEO
I’m talking about a time that those under 20 don’t know, to put it another way. However, before the overwhelming power of Facebook came, MySpace was one of the most visited sites in the world and greatly contributed to the existence of existing social networks. Let’s just say that Tom Anderson’s candidacy for the CEO position delighted more than one person, as some have stated in the comments.
“If Tom of MySpace becomes CEO of Twitter, it will complete one of my childhood stories”says one user, another predicts the firm will appreciate “8 trillion dollars” If Tom Anderson is responsible. But for now, it’s better to be cautious about it. As a matter of fact, a screenshot posted on Twitter does not yet constitute an official application for most companies.
