Conference calling allows more than two people on the phone at the same time. This can make meetings and other business conversations easier than video conferencing.
Conference calls can be accessed with a few simple taps. Conference calling is free and allows up to three people to speak on the same call. This feature works with all carriers the iPhone uses, but works a little differently for AT&T users compared to what’s on Verizon and Sprint. The special benefits of using an AT&T iPhone are listed at the end of the post.
With a few minor differences, basic conference calling works the same for any iPhone. Follow the guide below to get started using conference calling on your iPhone today.
How to Use Conference Calling?
Go to the Phone app on iPhone and select a contact to call. When the phone starts to ring, pull the phone away from your ear to see the call screen as below. Wait until the call is fully connected and once connected a plus icon should appear in the bottom right. Tap Plus to add a call
Scroll through the contacts list and choose who you want to add to the conference call. When you find the right person, tap on it.
With the contact selected, tap the contact’s number for iPhone to dial.
The first call is put on hold while iPhone dials the second number.
Once the second number is connected, tap the button at the bottom left to create a Conference call.
The iPhone then joins the three calls so that the sound is synced for all users.
When the calls are combined, it will say in the status bar at the top:
Tapping the button will hang up all calls.

An AT&T iPhone has a few special features that users have over an iPhone from Verizon or Sprint. This comes into play when using conference calling, as the AT&T iPhone can do voice and data at the same time.
