Microsoft has officially released the Windows 11 preview for developers. The PC Health Check app lets you know if your computer meets the minimum requirements to run Windows 11. If so, we’ll show you how to sign up for the Windows Insider Program and properly install Windows 11 on your computer.
Windows 11 brings new fine-tuned user interface, touch-optimized UX, new Windows menu, widgets, rounded corners, performance improvement, smooth animations, Android app support and more.
If the PC Health Check application gives an error, you can make your Windows 10 computer work. Few users with computers running on Intel 7th Gen or 6th Gen processors can install Windows 11 without any problems. However, you need to enable TPM (Trusted Platform Module) from UEFI mode on your computer to proceed smoothly.
Because this Windows 11 Preview build is for developers only, it may negatively impact performance. You may experience errors and problems. Therefore, install Windows 11 Preview at your own risk.
Lets start.
Sign up for the Windows Insider Program
If you are already part of the Windows Insider Program (Dev channel), you should get the Windows 11 build update in the Settings menu.
Those using the stable build of Windows 10 should sign up for the program using the official Microsoft website or the Windows Settings menu. Here’s how to do it.
Open Optional Diagnostic Data
First, Microsoft will ask you to enable optional diagnostic data from the Privacy menu. So the company can learn from your usage and gather feedback on the new operating system.

Stage 1: In Windows 10, open the Settings app (use Windows + I keys).
Step 2: Go to the privacy menu.

Stage 3: Optional diagnostic data is enabled under the Diagnostics and Feedback menu.

Let’s sign up for the Windows Insider Program now.
Use the Windows Settings Menu
Microsoft allows you to enroll in the Insider Program using the Settings menu. Follow the steps below.
Stage 1: In Windows 10, open the Settings app (use Windows + I keys).
Step 2: Go to Update & Security.

Stage 3: Select Windows Insider Program.
Step 4: Click Get started.

Step 5: Select Link an account and select your Microsoft account from the list.

Step 6: Select Continue and Windows will prompt you to choose your Insider settings.
Step 7: Select Development Channel and hit the Confirm button at the bottom.

Step 8: Accept the terms and conditions and restart your Windows computer.

Now you are all ready to get the Windows 11 build on the computer.
Use the Windows Insider Program Website
If you are unable to sign up for the Windows Insider Program from the Settings app, you must use the Windows Insider Program website to get started.
Stage 1: Visit the Windows Insider Program website using the link below.
Step 2: Click the Register button on the main page.

Stage 3: Sign in with your Microsoft account. Use the same Microsoft account added to your Windows 10 computer.

Step 4: After going through a few deals, the system will enroll you for Windows OS beta testing.
This much. You have successfully signed up for the Insider program to test Windows 11 and upcoming updates.
Now go to Windows Settings > Update & Security > Windows Insider Program and now you can choose Insider settings to get Windows 11 build.
Install Windows 11 Insider Preview
You signed up for Windows 11 insider preview with your Microsoft account. Go ahead and download the Windows 11 build from the Settings app. Check out the steps below.
Stage 1: In Windows 10, open the Settings app (Windows + I keys).
Step 2: Open the Update & Security menu.

Stage 3: Click on Windows Update.
Step 4: Click on Check for updates.
In a few moments, Windows Updates will show you the Windows 11 build and ask if you want to download it to your computer.

If you are using a laptop, connect it to the power adapter and let the system download the build.
It may take some time to download the build depending on your connection quality.

Also, you should back up important data to an external hard drive or cloud storage services like OneDrive or Google Drive to prepare for the worst-case scenario.
Our Experience with Windows 11 So Far
Although it’s been almost a day since its launch, we’ve managed to install the Windows 11 Home edition on the HP Specter x360 running an Intel i5-7200U CPU (not officially recommended by Microsoft yet). No related issues so far and we don’t use any obscure software or peripherals.

Since this is a beta preview build specially designed for developers, you can enjoy it for your basic use. However, if your work is dependent on specific software, we do not recommend trying it on your host computer. Windows 11 is far from supporting popular software to provide the best performance.
Get Started with Windows 11
Although the first Windows 11 preview build has been made available, it is far from the official public release. It could go through a number of changes under the hood. Until then, you can enjoy and familiarize yourself with Windows 11. However, if your Windows 10 computer is running an officially unsupported processor, you can expect bugs and issues.
