If you want to add a little extra protection to your new Galaxy S5 by getting a screen protector, almost every manufacturer has plenty of options to offer. However, it is the setup process that often frustrates buyers, but we have a new tool from TYLT that tries to avoid all your alignment issues.
Installing a screen protector can be a hassle. Most of the time you don’t get it right, air bubbles, even some dust gets under the screen and it looks awful and bubbling all over the place until you remove it. Although it is not tempered or reinforced glass like some, it is not very expensive either. To make things even better, they offer a unique “alignment” tool that will make your setup easy, painless and most importantly perfect.
If you’re anything like me, you want your screen protector to be perfect. I have what some might call OCD when it comes to my electronics and smartphones, and that’s especially true of my screen protectors. If it doesn’t line up perfectly or has a single bubble, I’m starting over.
Below is a quick description of this product for you and a how-to video that shows users how easy it really is to get a perfect setup. I was able to do this while shooting the video to the side while using one hand for most ifs. If you want to add a screen saver with ease, this is your best bet.
Instead of the traditional water solution they ask you to spray on your device and then give you a small tool to remove all the air bubbles, TYLT has a tool to make it perfect so you don’t have to wet your screen protector and to try to slide into place. This will never work anyway, so this is a welcomed release for any buyer who buys.

This is actually called Get TYLTand it exists for a number of devices, but buy for $19.99 For Galaxy S5. With this you will get four screen protectors in the set: one HD Anti-Glare and three regular HD screen protectors. You’ll also get a microfiber cloth to clean your screen, a card to remove bubbles, and an alignment tool. We recommend using something like a credit card to clear the bubbles, but the alignment tool is the best part of the whole package.
Clean your Samsung Galaxy S5 screen with the included cloth and slide it into the TYLT Forehead tool. From here you will choose the screen saver you want to use and watch the video below.
The first tab is the sticky part, so take it out and put it face down on your screen. Align with the tool and release. You’ll want to make sure there are no air conditioners or fans around as dust can blow under the screen during installation. From here remove all the bubbles, remove the second layer of protection and you’re done.
Take your time and align it right the first time (something I didn’t do) and you’ll be done in less than 2 minutes. This was one of the easiest, fastest and perfect screensaver installs I’ve ever done. Consider me a fan. One thing worth mentioning is that this one comes with four screen protectors. Three are regular HD displays and the second is an HD Anti-Glare as we mentioned above. Anti-glare may have an added texture that won’t feel as smooth as you swipe, so we recommend trying both and see what works best for you.
Once you have an alignment tool to get it perfect the first time, there’s no need for four as you won’t make a mistake and don’t need a second screen protector for another try. That being said, they offer four in case one gets scratched, so save them for a rainy day.
All said and done, for $19.99 you get four screen protectors and one of the easiest installs we’ve ever done.
