The stainless steel Apple Watch may look beautiful, but users have discovered that it scratches quite easily. Fortunately, there is a do-it-yourself solution for this.
Apple says the case is of a certain hardness so it won’t scratch easily, but that wasn’t the case when buyers finally got their own unit. scratched cases they are already starting to appear.
9to5Mac notes The fact that the 316L stainless steel used in the mid-range Apple Watch is actually softer and more prone to scratches than the aluminum case of the Apple Watch Sport is not surprising since it is generally known that stainless steel is often scratched underneath. normal wear and tear conditions. If you want proof, take a look at your old iPod, which has scratches all over the glossy black plate. This one is made of stainless steel, just like the Apple Watch.
However, this shouldn’t start another Apple discussion like “bendgate”. Apple Watch users should admit that the case will eventually scratch, but there are fixes that can mask scratches if you don’t like looking.

All it takes is a little polish and just a towel to remove scratches, which can be done up front for less than $10. And then whenever a new scratch appears, undo the polish and polish it again for free.
How to Fix Apple Watch Scratches
When you decide you want to fix those scratches on your stainless steel Apple Watch, all you need is some kind of metal polish. Anneler Mag and Aluminum Polish it will work just fine and is really cheap. You will also need some kind of towel. A regular bath hand towel will do just fine, but just use one you don’t mind turning into a dirty rag.
When your supplies are ready, take one corner of your towel and dip it in the polish. You only want a small piece, as the Apple Watch case doesn’t take up a lot of surface area.
Then apply it by applying pressure to your stainless steel Apple Watch and rubbing it back and forth where the scratches are. You don’t need to do this for too long. Stop every 10 seconds and see how it progresses and whether the scratches are gone. After they’re gone, take a clean portion of the towel and scrub the Apple Watch clean.
What polishing does is essentially remove a very thin layer of steel to match the depth of the scratches and somehow “disappear” them. This is why you may notice that your Apple Watch has turned dark gray where you rubbed the towel.
This same method should work on your iPod as well, but may require a little more elbow grease. That’s how easy it is to remove scratches from your stainless steel Apple Watch, however.
The screen, on the other hand, is made of sapphire, one of the hardest materials known to man, and already has a scratch-resistant coating, so it won’t scratch as easily as the Apple Watch case. Of course, it will not stand for anything, because a dagger blade on the screen can easily kill it, but the most common household items, such as keys, will not do much damage. However, if you constantly expose your Apple Watch to harmful elements, or if you have children or pets that could possibly do some harm, you will most likely end up with a scratched screen in the end.
In most cases, you’ll be fine without a screen protector, especially if you’re always careful about how you use your Apple Watch. However, accidentally dropping your Apple Watch or crushing it under something is the worst-case scenario. This is where some screen savers can be useful.
