How to Change App-Specific Language in iOS 13 and iPadOS 13

iOS 13 has come with a few new features. While some new additions like Low Data Mode and Dark Mode get a lot of attention, features like “Remind When Texting” and the ability to change app-specific language on iPhone and iPad are still hidden. Personally, I found the option to set a different language for a single application quite useful without having to mess with the system language. I think it would be a great choice for multilingual people who prefer English as the official option but love to communicate with friends and loved ones in their native language. If you are one of them, let me show you how it works!

How to Change the Language of an Individual App on iPhone and iPad

It’s better to use a single language for a unified experience across the device. This is the main reason why iOS 12 or earlier doesn’t offer the flexibility to set the language on an iPhone or iPad per app basis. But knowing the fact that a single language – no matter how popular – cannot bring together millions of people from different countries and regions, iOS 13 lifted the ancient restriction for the better. So, system-wide you can keep English as your preferred option, but you can choose to localize WhatsApp or Telegram to Hindi, Spanish or whatever you want.

one. Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.

2. Now scroll down and favorite app Which language do you want to change? In this test, I will choose Gmail.

The change will take effect immediately. Launch the app whose language you changed to check. The new lingo will be fully embellished to welcome you. Now go ahead and use this app to write a note, send a message or whatever it’s made for.

Later, if you change your mind, go back to the same language setting and choose the language you want. This is as simple as it can get, right?

Set Preferred Language in Your Favorite Apps on iPhone and iPad

From now on, your favorite apps will no longer be managed by the system language. Therefore, you can set a different language in each of your preferred apps depending on your needs. Personally, I found this feature very useful as it allows me to communicate with my friends in the regional language more easily. Let me know your thoughts on this in the comments below.
