We all know that iOS is a pretty restrictive operating system and we can’t make too many system-level changes. So things like locking apps with your biometric data or hiding individual apps from view are things users can’t really do. However, many people are not aware that if you go into their Settings, you can find some amazing hidden features that iOS has to offer. One such feature is the ability to hide apps, and although you cannot hide individual apps, you can use a generic statement that will hide certain types of apps. The trick I’m going to show you is nothing new and has actually been around for several years. This is what makes this trick so much more interesting because although it has been practiced for a long time, not many people know about it. One thing to note here is that iOS 12 has changed the way this trick works.. So, if you are still running on stable versions of iOS 11, we have an article to help you hide apps on your iPhone X. However, if you are currently using iOS 12 or will be in a few months, here is how you can hide apps on iPhone X:
- Launch the “Settings” app on your iPhone X and then tap on “Screen Time”. Here, tap on the “Content and Privacy Restrictions” option.
2. When you do this, you will be prompted to create a “Password”. Since we’ve already done this, we get the “Enter Password” screen. Just Create the password and enable the “Content and Privacy” option on the next screen.
3. Now, If you want to hide native apps, tap on “Allowed Apps”. choice. Here, disable the apps you don’t want to appear on the home screen.
4. Tap “Content Restriction” to hide third-party apps.. As you can see, there are many things you can restrict on your iPhone. You can restrict the music, podcasts, movies, books and more available to the user here.
5. However, since this article focuses on hiding apps, Tap on the “Applications” option marked in the image below. By default, you will see the “Allow All Apps” option selected.
6. Here you can do several things. Firstly, You can hide all third-party apps by tapping “Don’t Allow Apps”.. Or you can hide apps based on age restrictions. For example, tapping “12+” will hide all apps that require the user to be 12 years or older.

As you can see, although you cannot hide individual apps, using the age restriction feature is good enough to hide sensitive apps.
