About two months ago, Google completely redesigned Gmail. Truth be told, it was only a matter of time before Material You landed in the mail client after many consecutive applications from the Mountain View company. However, this update may not always be to everyone’s taste.
You may indeed feel lost in this new interface, or quite simply the design is not to your liking. It is also possible that this new sidebar showing different applications of the Workspace suite annoys you. We have a solution for all these problems. Fortunately, it is possible to find the previous design of Gmail and do it in a very simple way.
How to Revert to the Old Gmail Design
Indeed, it will only take you a few clicks to go back in time. Here is the procedure to follow:
- open your box gmail
- Click gear wheel in the upper right corner of the screen to open Settings
- You will then see the following sentence: “You are using the new Gmail view”
- Click the option below, Return to original view
- Then a window will pop up asking why you want to revert to the old interface. You can ignore it and just click it. Refresh.
Your browser will then refresh the page. Once the installation is finished, you will be back to your beloved old Gmail interface. But if nostalgia overtakes you, you can always decide to adopt your new Material You design. All you have to do is proceed in the same way. Did this tutorial help you?
