There’s no doubt that Xbox Game Pass has revolutionized the way we consume video games. With its subscription system, it has enabled many players to discover classics as well as standalone nuggets. But in addition to the very interesting library of toys, the platform has another important argument: Xbox Cloud Gaming. According to Satya Nadella, the service, which was launched very recently, continued to arrive en masse from players around the world.
Microsoft CEO proudly claims that more than 10 million users have streamed games since launch. A real milestone for the Redmond company, which is increasingly becoming a real challenger in the gaming industry. Besides shaking up history with a takeover, Sony has therefore also established itself in the midst of cloud gaming.
Xbox Cloud Gaming surpasses 10 million users
Indeed, there is nothing trivial in Microsoft’s presentation of its results in this area. A few years after its release, Google is still reluctant to disclose the number of Stadia users, despite being one of the service’s pioneers in the industry. As for Nvidia, the figures quoted about GeForce Now make it possible to inflate the scores by taking into account the users who do not subscribe to the subscription.
Of course, Microsoft doesn’t specify what it considers “stream”. Therefore, it is possible that a user who takes advantage of the free Game Pass trial and starts a game in the cloud for a minute can be counted. Still, the performance is remarkable for a service offered at €12.99 per month. Following the acquisition of Activision-Blizzard, Microsoft has already announced that Xbox Game Pass has reached 25 million users.
