Adding Fortnite two factor authentication or multi-factor authentication for your account, using 2fa or authenticator apps to add two-step verification can make your account much more secure. You’ll also get a special free emote to encourage you because Epic thinks it’s that good.

Fortnite two-factor authentication protects you from hackers by sending a secondary code to back up your password or adding a two-step process to login using an authentication app to back up your password again. It basically means that if your password is leaked or hacked, no one can use the password without the second code.
If you’re a regular player, if you have plenty of equipment in your locker that you’ve bought or won, you don’t want to lose it, so this is an extra layer of protection. Epic considers two-factor authentication such a high priority in Fortnite that they’re handing out rewards for using it – meaning if you’re playing the Boogie Down emote and Save the World in battle royale mode, you’ll get 50 ammo slots, 10 backpack slots, and a Legendary Troll Stash Llama.
What is Fortnite two-factor authentication?
Here’s what Fortnite tfa does and how to enable it.
Fortnite Two-factor authentication, 2FA, or multi-factor authentication requires a second layer of authentication, making your account more secure. The way it works is when the game detects a login from a new machine, it will ask for proof that it’s you in one of two ways. You will only be asked for a code sent to the account holder via email, or a code from an authentication app such as Google Authenticator, LastPass Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or Authy. This means your account will be completely safe from hacks and password leaks.
How to enable Fortnite two-factor authentication
To enable two-factor in your Fortnite account Fortnite.com/2FA (opens in new tab). Log into your Epic Games account and under the option to change your password you should see a prompt to enable email 2FA or authentication app 2FA. To enable Fortnite authentication, select your preferred option and follow the onscreen instructions.
How to get Boogie Down emote via Fortnite 2FA
Enabling 2FA on your account will earn you the Fortnite Boogie Down emote, so you should automatically claim your reward the next time you log in. If you don’t have Fortnite 2FA yet, here’s another good reason to do so – soon you’ll have a brand new dance to use in-game!
