Fortnite Two-factor authentication, 2FA, or multi-factor authentication requires a second layer of authentication, making your account more secure. The way it works is when the game detects a login from a new machine, it will ask for proof that it’s you in one of two ways. You will only be asked for a code sent to the account holder via email, or a code from an authentication app such as Google Authenticator, LastPass Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or Authy. This means your account will be completely safe from hacks and password leaks.

Log into your Epic Games account and under the option to change your password you should see a prompt to enable email 2FA or authentication app 2FA.
