Ever since Activision Blizzard was acquired by King Microsoft, we’ve been waiting for the publisher’s games to fill the Xbox Game Pass catalog. For now, players are still hungry, as only Diablo IV has joined the subscription service. It’s certainly a big release, but more than six months after the acquisition was confirmed, we can expect more games to be available, especially given the depth of the pool at Activision and Blizzard.
However, the pace is expected to pick up significantly in the second half of 2024. Leakster eXtas1s on the eXputer forum claims that a wave of Activision games will be coming to Game Pass in the coming weeks. We trust his information as he is the source of many confirmed Xbox leaks, such as the Xbox Starfield controller. He also mentions the development of a portable Xbox console.
First Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, then Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 and Spyro Reignited Trilogy
The first Activision game for Game Pass is expected to be released in August. That would be around Crash Bandicoot N. Sane TrilogyA remaster of the first three iconic Crash Bandicoot games. Developed by Vicaious Visions (which has become Blizzard Albany since 2022), the game was released on PS4 in 2017 and on PC, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One in 2018. eXtas1s cites sources and graphical evidence to support his opinion, but he doesn’t know if the game will be compatible with Xbox cloud gaming.
He also claims that Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 and Spyro Reignited Trilogy Coming soon to Game Pass without a more specific release window, these are ironically remakes/remasters of cult licenses that first found fame on PlayStation.
We also know that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be hitting Game Pass on day one, October 24, 2024. That’ll be the first major new Activision Blizzard game on the platform, with older Call of Duty games likely to be added to the pre-catalog as appetizers.
