Since its launch on February 25, 2022, Steam Deck has welcomed many updates to improve the player experience. For example, we note the automatic deletion of cache files to optimize compatibility with Windows 11, the integration of a lock screen or storage space.
However, Valve has just announced the distribution of a new update for its hybrid console on Thursday, May 12, 2021. Not surprisingly, this update brings its share of various fixes and new features. Alongside the corrections, we note:
- Fixed an issue that caused multiple Steam inventory new item notifications to appear
- Fixed an issue where users were shown as favorites when they were no longer friends
- Fixed issues with various dialogs incorrectly displaying when the on-screen keyboard is visible
- Fixed On-Screen Keyboard and Magnifier interstitials not considering input when launching certain games for the first time
Adjust performance by game on Steam Deck
As for the features, Valve will likely please many gamers with the integration of two new weights. First, Steam Deck owners are now Connect their console to an external display. When plugged into your PC monitor, the Steam Deck interface automatically scales to a virtual 1280 x 800 pixel resolution. Valve states that it plans to improve this “feature” in the future.
The other great innovation lies in its possibility. set custom performance settings for each game. To do this, go to the Quick access > Performances > Advanced view menu. For example, it’s up to you to set frame rate limits or overall graphics quality on a case-by-case basis.
If you prefer not to touch anything, the games will use the default system performance settings. On the other hand, if per-game settings are enabled, A profile will be created for each game. Any changes will be automatically saved and applied the next time you launch that thread. As a reminder, Valve recently announced that over 2,400 games are compatible with the Steam Deck.
