Horizon involves choosing between waiting in Forbidden West or going now, waiting for the Embassy, or going straight to Tenakth. It feels important – nothing was supposed to happen until Tenakth kicked off events, but no one showed up and tensions are mounting.
So is it better to wait for Tenakth when they’re ready, or should you choose to go inside and see if they need help? We’ll explain whether you should wait or go to the Embassy at Horizon Forbidden West.
Should you wait at Horizon Forbidden West or go now?
Despite the way it’s presented, this choice doesn’t matter. Nozar and Studious Vuadis suggest that your actions will have consequences, but they don’t. Instead, it’s basically a threshold, allowing you to begin the next chapter of the game when you’re ready – the Tenakth Embassy and everything that follows won’t happen until Aloy selects “I’m leaving now”.
Essentially this is a breaking point where you have the chance to do side quests, explore and get better equipment before taking the Embassy quest, and eventually explore the No Man’s Land area on the other side of the gate.
Without spoiling the sequel, there will be some conflict as you continue, so it’s worth the wait if you think you might want to level up or get better gear. However, if you think you are ready to meet Tenakth, choose to go now and you will begin the next phase of the story quest.
