PS4: fpPS4 emulator can run its first game in 3D

PS emulation is still in its infancy, with many emulators today achieving successes on PC that allow you to play particularly challenging new console games. Until recently, we can count Spine, which offered quite satisfactory performances for that period, among the most advanced software in this field.

A PS4/PS5 emulator was released on PC at the beginning of the year, which is proof that the market is constantly evolving. But whatever the software, they all have the same limitation: for now, you should be happy with 2D games for obvious performance reasons. Suffice it to say that this is pretty embarrassing for a console that has succeeded with outstanding AAA privileges, among other things.

PS4 emulation takes a giant leap forward

But all that could change soon. Indeed, another until now relatively unknown emulator has just announced a major breakthrough in the world of PS4 emulation. We see a 3D game in a video posted on YouTube by the John GodGames Emus company. On the other hand, it is better to point out that one should not expect success.

First of all, don’t expect to see The Last of Us or Horizon: Zero Dawn at 30 FPS: it won’t. The game in question actually runs at 2.5D and rather at 10 FPS on average. It’s not really playable at the moment, but the interest is elsewhere. This is a big step forward for the emulation field that promises big things for the future. Therefore, it should be closely monitored.
