Pokemon Go Tour Poke Ball Prep Rally event, start time, Hisuian Electrode and more

The Pokemon Go Tour Poke Ball Prep Rally will prepare Pokemon Go trainers for the massive Pokemon Go Tour: Johto just around the corner. As the name suggests, this new event will feature Pokemon shaped like Poke Balls. That’s right, all the Voltorbs, Foongus and Koffing you can find. This event will also focus on Pokemon that act as objects to trick their prey, or trainers like Stunfisk.

While all these Pokemon are already in the game, this will even introduce a brand new Pokemon from the recently released Legends Arceus game Hisuian Electrode.

Go Tour Poke Ball Prep Rally Start Time

The Pokemon Go Tour Poke Ball Prep Rally event begins on Friday, February 18th at 10am local time and runs until Friday, February 25th at 8pm local time.

During the week-long event, trainers will see Voltorb (both Kanto and Hisuian forms), Koffing, Marrill, Wailmer, Solosis and Foongus more often in the wild. Jigglypuff, Electrode (Kanto version only), Amoonguss, and Galarian Stunfisk will also appear in the wild but rarely.

How to get Hisuian Electrode in Pokemon Go

The new Electrode form from the Hisui region will introduce Pokemon Go at this event. But getting it will not be as easy as catching it. Trainers will need 50 Voltorb candies to upgrade their Hisuian Voltorbs to obtain Hisuian Electrodes.

If you missed the first time Hisuian Voltorb debuted in the game, fear not. This Poke Ball Prep Rally will make Electric and Grass type appear in the wild. While it’s unclear whether the Hisuian Voltorb will be found in the wild after this, trainers will still be able to transform their Voltorb into Hisuian Electrode even after the event ends.

Fortunately for trainers, the candy they gain from catching normal Voltorb from the Kanto region can be used in these regional variants. Make sure to use Pinap Berry while trying to catch the Hisuian or Cantonese Voltorb to gain as much candy as possible during the event.

Go Tour Poke Ball Prep Rally Research Tasks

There will be Timed Research rewarding Poke Balls during the event. In addition to providing access to Hisuian Electrode and allowing trainers to catch other ball-shaped Pokemon, this event is here to prepare trainers for the Johto Tour by packing their bags with Poke Balls.

Stock up on Poke Balls so you can catch as many Johto-zone Pokemon as possible.

There will also be event-exclusive Field Research, which will reward Poke Balls, Great Balls, and Ultra Balls.

In-Game Bonuses

Keeping with the Poke Ball theme, trainers’ Buddy Pokemon will bring back Poke Balls in Gifts.

Trainers will also be able to get a new avatar outfit based on the Ball Guy from the Pokemon Sword and Shield games. This new outfit will be available in the shop at the start of the event this week.
