Pokemon Go Hoppip Community Day start time, how to catch a Shiny and More

Pokemon Go Hoppip Community Day will shine a spotlight on a Johto Pokemon ahead of the Johto Tour event in late February. Grass and Flying type Hoppip from Gen 2 will be the spotlight Pokemon, giving Pokemon Go trainers access to this Pokemon and its Shiny variations at the Community Day event in February. Not only that, trainers can power up their Jumpluffs with a special move that might make them consider using Pokemon on their team.

There’s a lot to go through, so we’ve got you covered with this essential Hoppip Community Day guide.

Hoppip Community Day Start Time

The February Community Day event featuring Hoppip will kick off on Saturday, February 12 from 11am to 5pm local time.

How to Catch Shiny Hoppip in Pokemon Go

If you start Pokemon Go within the six-hour event window, you’ll notice that Hoppip spawns more often than usual.

This is the benefit of Community Days, which gives trainers the opportunity to catch as many Pokemon as possible, as well as shiny Pokemon. But how do you catch Shiny Hoppip in Pokemon Go?

Community Days makes it that much easier. According to the Pokemon Go community site, Silph Way Shiny odds increase during Community Days. The standard odds for encountering a Shiny in Pokemon Go are 1 in 500, while events like Community Days increase the odds to 1 in 25. into time.

Of course, trainers who don’t want to go out during the event can use an Incense to attract Pokemon to them. Instructors can also travel near PokeStops and Gyms to see a natural cluster of Hoppip.

To identify Shiny Hoppip, trainers will see a different color on the Gen 2 Pokemon. Normal Hoppip is pink in color, but Bright is bright green. It’s not hard to yearn. If you’re a trainer who isn’t sure if you’ve found a Shiny Hoppip, he may find the Shiny symbol next to the Pokemon’s name in the capture section of the match.

How to get Jumpluff with acrobatics

Jumpluff, the latest evolution of Hoppip, has never been a great fighter in Pokemon Go. Part of this is the lack of variety in the move set. However, this upcoming Community Day will give the Grass and Flying type a huge boost in the form of a true Flying type attack.

Prior to the event, Jumpluff’s only Flying-type move – Quick or Charged – was Aerial Ace. And while this attack is a solid move mainly used to dodge an opponent’s shields rather than actually dealing damage, the Acrobatics gives Jumpluff some much-needed firepower.

Aerobatics is a base-strength move – 110 in PVP – 100 in PVE – and will spell doom for the other Turf types that Fight and Jumpluff face.

To get Acrobatidcs into Jumpluff, instructors just need to convert Skiploom to Jumpluff on Saturday, February 12 between 11:00 – 19:00. Charged Attack will automatically become Acrobatics. For those who missed the event or already have a desired Jumpluff, an Elite Charged TM can be used to trade one of his Charged Attacks for one of your choice, including Aerobatics.
