‘Palworld’ studio faces terror: death threats shake creative team

‘Palworld‘ is a game that becomes more known every day and, unfortunately, that too for negative reasons.

The studio responsible for the work, Pocketpair, received some death threats, the head of the site, Takuro Mizobe, spoke about what happened on Twitter (now X).

“Currently, we are receiving slanderous comments against our artists and seeing tweets that appear to be death threats,” Mizobe said.

According to the Japanese, this type of content has appeared more frequently in recent times and comes from people dissatisfied with the work of developers.

In fact, there is still controversy about the production being a possible copy of ‘Pokémon’ in several aspects.

So much anger from a niche of the gaming community is due to the various allegations that ‘Palworld‘ would have simply plagiarized Pokémon, even using artificial intelligence (AI) in its development.

On Twitter (now X), a user even created a thread showing the brutal similarity between the two.

In 2022, Takuro Mizobe, the current CEO of Pocketpair, had already spoken favorably about the potential of AI for the electronic games market. According to the manager, this feature could be used to avoid copyright.

Now, curiously, the manager posted something quite controversial recently, claiming that most of the 100 character concepts were created by a single student who had just graduated and was rejected by almost 100 companies before being hired by him.

In any case, regardless of the dissatisfaction shown by some people, the game is a tremendous success, earning the title of one of Steam’s biggest attractions, just three days after being released for PC.

The number of simultaneous players continues to grow in Valve’s system and the current record achieved by game it was 1,582,482 players, at least at the time of this publication.

We are talking about a quantity that surpassed gigantic names on the market, such as ‘Elden Ring’, ‘Counter-Strike’ and ‘Cyberpunk 2077’.
