After the leak of Nintendo’s release, “The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom”, several players were already doing even gameplays and downloading the game illegally.

Copies of the full title have been made available to download illicit, but the company managed to take most of the videos down, with copyright lawsuits.

Furthermore, Nintendo even managed to unmask the player who pirated its production, even revealing the details used by the user in the installation.

This fact surprised RevolutionaryToe6738, a Reddit user responsible for pirating the new “Zelda”. Therefore, the exposed user decided to post on his network the letter from his internet provider with the copyright infringement notice:

“Dude, wtf. Did Nintendo find out about this somehow? They know exactly how I did it too.”

He commented, perplexed by the amount of information exposed. Check out the original publication:

How did Nintendo find out?

The Japanese giant worked in collaboration with the player’s internet provider, Comcast Business Internet, to acquire information about the criminal act against the new “Zelda”, such as the download method and even the computer ID.

In a letter to the user, the network provider explains:

“We have received a message from a copyright owner or their authorized agent reporting alleged copyright infringement of one or more of their protected works committed through our Comcast Business Internet service.”

Surely, RevolutionaryToe6738 will think twice before committing another infraction of this kind.
