If you’re wondering how to sprint in Fortnite, you’ve probably heard that movement upgrades were introduced in Fortnite Season 2 to make up for the lack of building ability. You may not be able to build a defensive wall to protect yourself in Fortnite right now, but if you can at least sprint, it will give you a better chance of getting out of danger before you take any significant damage. If you’re not sure how to dodge or have trouble with acceleration, here’s how to tactically sprint in Fortnite.
Tactical Sprint in Fortnite
Overall, you’ll notice that your overall movement speed is faster than in previous seasons, but you can now dash to travel faster. The default control for sprinting in Fortnite is to click the left stick while moving, where you’ll see your character provide a burst of speed. You’ll notice a new stamina bar appear above your shield and HP, which drains as you run and returns you to normal running speed when depleted.
Give it a few seconds and your stamina will regenerate, allowing you to start the Fortnite sprint once again. You can keep running during this time as it won’t affect how fast your stamina regenerates, and you won’t have to wait for the bar to fill up before you sprint again – but naturally you won’t be able to sprint. long if you’re working with a half-empty stamina bar.
If you can’t sprint in Fortnite, check your controls
Depending on how heavily you customize your controls, it could be an issue created to prevent you from running in Fortnite. To check this go to your settings and on the Controller Configuration screen make sure sprint is connected. You’ll see the settings for this just below Move near the top of the list on the left, so reassign them to allow you to sprint in Fortnite if needed.
