How to solve Destiny 2 Cryptic Quatrains quests?

The Destiny 2 Cryptic Quatrains quests challenge you to read clues, explore the solar system, and uncover treasure in the Season of Plunder. There are three Cryptic Quatrain quests in total, and each one starts when you collect a Treasure Mark from the Star Chart. Read the quatrain with a cryptic clue in your ‘Tasks’ tab and decipher the clue using the highlighted letters. These tips aren’t too overwhelming at first, but they can get a lot less clear later on, here are all the solutions for Cryptic Quatrain missions in Destiny 2.

How to get Destiny 2 Cryptic Quatrain quests

To receive the Cryptic Quatrains quests, you need to get the Small, Medium, and Large Treasure Marks from the Star Chart in HELM. However, each Treasure Marker can only be collected when you reach a certain Rank with the Starboard by gaining Savvy:

• Little Treasure Mark: Unlocks at Rank 7 for Cryptic Quatrains 1
• Medium Treasure Mark: Unlocks at Rank 10 for Cryptic Quatrains 2
• Great Treasure Mark: Unlocks at Rank 16 for Cryptic Quatrains 3

Become Knowledgeable by completing Ketchcrash and Expedition missions – you can learn more about all Destiny 2 Season 18 events with our guide. Once you reach the required rank, collect the Treasure Beacon from the Star Map rewards and you will receive a Cryptic Quatrains quest. You can complete the quest and then get the next Treasure Mark after unlocking it to continue the mystery.

Pick up the Little Treasure Mark from the Star Chart and you can start Cryptic Quatrains 1. Here are all the yellow tips and solutions:

Pretty self explanatory, that’s it. Just go to the Moon, but you can progress to the next clue by landing at Sorrow’s Harbor in the northeast of the Moon map.

If you’re not there yet, head to Sorrow’s Harbor on the Moon, then clear the K1 Revelations Lost Sector and loot the chest at the end.

Cosmo, fallen, sword, strike

For this tip, simply complete the Fallen Saber Strike in the Cosmodrome. Find and select the Fallen Saber Strike node on the Cosmodrome map to load directly into Strike – you don’t have to be lucky to find that Strike in the Vanguard Ops playlist.

Europa, even, tide, hook, cranes, search

After completing the Strike, head to the Eventide Ruins on Europa. Right in front of you, you will see a pair of cranes on an orange-lit field with a large, icy rock in front of it. Go to this rock and there will be a green Fallen symbol marking where you need to dig in the snow. Do this and you’ll get a piece of Season of Plunder gear, five Destiny 2 Map Pieces, and a Raw Cipher Piece you’ll need later.

Collect the Medium Treasure Mark from the Star Chart to begin Cryptic Quatrains 2. All yellow tips and solutions are here:

Laurel, chest, drowning, fog, dream, loss, wish

That’s not very descriptive. Head to the Dreaming City and return to find the Lost Sector of Mr. Drowned Wishes as soon as you land. Cross the Lost Sector, clear the enemies and finally loot the chest.

Complete Lake of Shadows Strike for this step. As with Fallen Saber Strike, you can find and select the Lake of Shadows Strike node on the EDZ map to go directly to Strike.

This step only requires you to complete an Exploration mission in your Heavy weapon slot equipped with a Sword. You don’t even need to deal damage with your sword, but if you do, the Destiny 2 Lament Exotic Sword is a good choice that will shatter larger enemies towards the end.

Nessus, column, cistern, stamp of the pyramid, pass through

To solve this clue, you need to go to the Cistern landing site in Nessus and then use your Sparrow to reach the large stone tower called the Well of Flame – this is in the western area of ​​the map. Climb the entrance to the tower, which is a large triangular door, and you’ll easily spot another green X mark dot symbol that you’ll need to interact with to get the final clue for Cryptic Quatrains 2.

From the Well of Flame, head to the northwest part of the Cistern – this is where one of the Injection Rig Destiny 2 Heroic Public Events takes place. There is a rocky orb partially buried in the ground and you will soon discover another green symbol that you can dig. You’ll find more Season of Plunder gear, 10 more Map Pieces, and a second Raw Cipher Piece, but you’ll need more instructions to assemble them.

Collect the Great Treasure Mark from the Star Chart to begin Cryptic Quatrains 3. These are all yellow hint phrases and solutions:

To start the final Cryptic Quatrains, head to the northwest area of ​​the EDZ called the Sunken Islands and complete the Lost Quarry Sector. Don’t forget to loot the chest at the end.

Accident, migration, a life to be lived

This challenging step allows you to complete Exodus Crash Strike on Nessus without dying. Make sure to select the Exodus Crash Strike node on the Neussus map to go directly. This Assault is full of exploding Shanks and mines, so try not to die carelessly.

Complete a Ketchcrash mission using an Arc Subclass and a Hand Cannon weapon.

For this tip, open Captain’s Atlas and create the Raw Cipher using the parts you got in previous Cryptic Quatrains missions. This will open some secret compartments in the atlas that you need to fill for the next clue.

Now go to the Forgotten Shore area of ​​the Cosmodrome. In the southern part of the Forgotten Coast you will find a beached and rusted boat (marked on the map is the entrance to the Lost Sector of the Labyrinth of Veles) with a green symbol on the front next to the mast. Look for the symbol for the last Cryptic Quatrains 3 clue.

The cave joins the brook, the three pillars, the treasure

For the final clue, you need to find the part of the Forgotten Coast where the west-flowing river roughly meets the sea. You will notice three concrete columns lined up along the river and a cave in between. Enter the cave and dig the green symbol to claim your rewards: some weapons with Deepsight Resonance and even more Season of Plunder gear, including the Charge of Light Exotic Sparrow.
