GTA Online Taxi Work has finally arrived in Los Santos and Blaine County, allowing you to earn some cash by getting on the books of Downtown Cab Co. and transporting passengers within the city. Driving a taxi is a well-established side mission in the series that goes back to GTA3, so it’s actually surprising that it took this long to add this fun to GTA Online, but at least it’s here now. There are some key changes from the clock versus manic lines we’ve seen in previous iterations, so if you want to learn more then here’s how to complete Taxi Work in GTA Online.
Where to Start GTA Online Taxi Work?
When GTA Online Taxi Work becomes available (should be immediate), you will receive a text message from Downtown Cab Co. confirming this, and a map marker will appear for their office south of Diamond Resort and Casino.
Go to this location, then pass the large arm wrestling marker under the awning and go up the stairs, interacting with the doors at the top to start GTA Online Taxi Work. You will receive your taxi driver’s license and will spawn outside in Vapid Taxi, where your first customer will appear on the map as a blue character. If you now have a personal Vapid Taxi that can be purchased as one of GTA Online’s new cars, simply click on the right stick while driving to start the Taxi Run, without having to visit Downtown Cab Co. to pick up a vehicle.
How to complete fares in GTA Online Taxi Work?
This iteration of GTA Online Taxi Work is a little different from its predecessors in that you only have access to one customer per trip and there is no time limit to complete the fare. Head towards the flashing blue character on the map to find your client, then click on the left stick to sound your horn to let them in before following the route to their destination.
Their tips are much more than the base fare, but they gradually decrease over time and if you hit something, so you’ll make the most profit if you get to the drop off point quickly and safely. That being said, you don’t lose more money for every fender bender, so don’t stress too much about the occasional bumps here and there. You can continue the Taxi Work until you press and hold the button to exit the vehicle, destroy the cabin, or reach a wanted level.
GTA Online Taxi Work Awards
The main GTA Online Taxi Work rewards are of course the fees and tips you collect, and you’ll never make it, starting at around $1,000 per trip and increasing with each consecutive customer you deliver, up to a maximum of 10 in a row. massive amount of cash from this side hustle. However, the first time you complete 10 consecutive fares, you will unlock Vapid Taxi’s trade price in Warstock Cache & Carry, reducing the price by 25% from $650,000 to $487,500.
Players have also found information suggesting that completing a total of 50 taxi fares will unlock the Downtown Cab Company skin for Classique Broadway, and completing 10 acrobatic jumps during Taxi Work will reward the Downtown Cab Company look for Willard Eudora, both pictured above. However, at the time of this writing, none of these vehicles have been released yet, and it’s also unclear whether you can actually use them for future Taxi Work or whether these skins are purely cosmetic.
