Forgotten Purple Spell explained

Forspoken Purple Magic is a type of magic Frey masters during play, and its attached stat increases the power of Purple Magic spells in battle. When you first reach Athia and start using Frey’s magic powers, you’ll be stuck with Purple Magic, a special flavor of elemental magic based only on earth-rock spells. Forspoken’s entire combat system relies entirely on these flamboyant spells, so it’s important to know the details of Frey’s magical abilities and key stats. Here’s what you need to know about Purple Magic at Forspoken and what the Purple Magic statistic means exactly.

What is Purple Magic on Forspoken?

As we mentioned earlier, Purple Magic is only one of several types of Forspoken magic and begins with Frey. It comes with a set of Attack, Support, and Surge Spells that focus on firing rock projectiles and using herbs to rein in and damage enemies, or heal Frey. You can spend your mana on unlocking these abilities, from powerful Scattershot and Shield Shot attacks to flower turrets and rocky mines.

Confusingly, there’s also a “Purple Magic” stat found on the Gear page, and it’s not initially clear how to increase this stat or even what it does. We’ve played through all of Forspoken, and as far as we can gather, Purple Magic stat increases the potency of all your Purple Magic spells and their damage.

To increase your Purple Magic stat, you need to unlock the Gear and apply certain upgrades. Cloak and Necklace gear items have inherent stat boosts, but you can apply certain ones by crafting upgrades. Purple Magic boosts are one of the upgrades you can get for your Gear, so if you want to master Purple Magic, we recommend increasing your Purple Magic stat as much as possible.
