If you’re fans of the Blizzard license, you’ve probably marked June 6, 2023, when Diablo 4 is expected to launch on consoles and PC, with a white stone (or rather, blood red here).
However, the studio plans to go through the traditional open beta before opening the gates of hell to all players. A critical step for Blizzard teams, as game director Joe Shely explained:
“We welcome your feedback on balancing, lots of bugs will be reported and we may even change some aspects of the game to make it fun or intuitive… Of course, this will also be a test of our infrastructure. servers so we can give you the best possible experience on the day the game is released”.
But without further ado, we’ll detail everything you need to know about this beta. Opening times, dates, content on offer, here we go!
When will Diablo 4 beta be released?
Diablo 4’s first open beta will open its doors as soon as possible. From 17:00 on Friday, March 17, 2023. You’ll have all weekend to play until On Monday, March 20th at 20:00.. Note that a second beta period will begin next week. It will be held between 17:00 on Friday, March 24, and 21:00 on Sunday, March 27.
Who can access the open beta?
For the first stage, Only players who pre-ordered the game will have access to the game. Note that from Wednesday, March 15, it is possible to pre-download the game files. Available to explore the world of Sanctuary as soon as the beta opens this Friday evening. As for the second stage, will be open to all.

How to download beta?
The procedure to be followed in different environments to download the beta version is as follows.
- Launch Battle.net platform
- Go to the Diablo IV page and click the Download game beta button (provided you have pre-ordered the game, of course)
- On consoles, go to Microsoft Store (on Xbox) or Playstation Store and search for Diablo IV open beta. All you have to do is download the files
Note that the maneuver will remain the same for the second phase of the beta on March 24. Also, if you attend session 1 and plan to participate in beta 2, You will not need to download again.

What content is available during the beta?
Thanks to this beta, players will be able to discover the entire prologue plus the first act of the game’s campaign. Starting this Friday, three of the 5 character classes that will be included in the final release will be available. You can try one of the following:
- barbarian
- thief
- Wizard
During the second beta period, the last two classes, Druid and Necromancer, will be available. You will be able to upgrade your character up to level 25.

If you want to test all classes, that’s fine because Diablo 4 will offer 10 character slots. Ideal for trying out all possible builds.
Also, Blizzard plans to invite players to a big challenge: Defeat the Open Beta world boss. Indeed, the fearsome Ashava lurks in the shadows, and you will need to join forces with other heroes to kill him on March 18 and 25 at 6:00 PM, 8:00 PM and midnight French time.
What are the expected rewards?
Of course, beta participants will be eligible for some rewards, Number three according to Blizzard :
- Reach Kyovashad to get it title First pleading or first victim
- Advance a character to level 20 to get title Early Prospector or as well as the early prospector ornamental wolf pack beta
