When talking about game developers, the Capcom is one of the most traditional companies in the sector and has been responsible for several successes.
Recently, after the release of last quarter’s fiscal balance sheets, the company updated the sales percentages for all its games.
The big highlight of the time was ‘Resident Evil’ and ‘Monster Hunter‘, two very profitable franchises from the studio.
To give you an idea, ‘Monster Hunter Rise’ surpassed the title above and achieved 14.20 million copies sold, being the corporation’s second most sold.
Its precursor, ‘Monster Hunter World’ in its base version, was responsible for selling 19.60 million. And if we consider its ‘Iceborn Edition’ expansion, that amount rises to 24.10 million.
The number of players increased after December with the announcement of ‘Monster Hunter Wilds’ followed by a promotion.

Now, speaking of the well-known zombie and shooting game franchise, ‘Resident Evil 2‘ reached 13.60 million copies (previous quantities were 13 million, according to the updated fiscal report). Therefore, this establishes the game as the company’s third best-selling game.
Fourth place goes to ‘Resident Evil 7’, boasting the 13 million mark, followed respectively by ‘Resident Evil Village’ with 9.30 million and ‘RE5’ and ‘RE6’ with 9 million each.
In total, it is estimated that ‘Resident Evil 3’ has 8.40 million and ‘Devil May Cry’ closes the ranking with 7.80 million.
‘Street Fighter 6’, the latest product in the famous fighting series, responsible for featuring iconic characters such as fighters Ryu, Ken Masters and the dictator Bison, has had just over 3 million copies purchased since its launch in June 2023.
At each quarter end, the percentages are updated by Capcom, and the most recent occurred between October and December of the previous year.
According to the organization, the last quarter between January and March (fiscal year) is generally less busy, and it is possible that the next update will not bring significant changes.
