Christopher Nkunku signed a new contract with RB LeipzigHe extended his contract until 2026. France comes amid reports of interest from a number of clubs, including international Chelsea and Manchester Unitedbut it secures its near future Bundesliga side.
Joining Leipzig from Paris Saint-Germain in 2019, Nkunku excelled last season with 54 goals straight, breaking the club record for most goal contributions in a single season. According to reports, Nkunku’s new contract includes a €60 million release clause that could be activated in the summer of 2023.
Nkunku was also a member of the Leipzig team that won the DFB-Pokal for the first time last season. Despite the interest shown by other clubs, Nkunku has dedicated his future to the German team and is aiming for more honors.

“I am pleased to continue wearing the RB Leipzig jersey. After our great success in winning the DFB-Pokal, it was clear that my story here is not over yet and we want more!” He told the club’s official website.
“I’ve been really impressed with the club’s efforts to retain me, so to those responsible for the trust placed in me, and especially [CEO] Oliver Mintzlaff, with whom I have always been in close contact.“
“RB Leipzig have made a name for themselves on the international scene in recent years and have shown time and time again that we can compete for titles. We want to take that forward and go one step further.”
RB Leipzig starts the new season against Bayern Munich in the DFB Super Cup on 30 July, followed by a tour to Stuttgart in the Bundesliga on 6 August.
