On Tuesday, February 27th, Brazil was the stage for the official launch of the streaming Max, a platform that combines the entire HBO Max and Discovery+ catalog into a single digital experience.
The debut marks a significant evolution in the way entertainment is consumed, offering users access to a wide range of content under one virtual roof.
The switch from HBO Max to Max was confirmed by Warner Bros. Discovery, in January 2024, as part of a strategy to unify streaming services under a common brand.
With this transition, the platform now offers more than a thousand titles in its catalog, including a variety of additional channels and productions.

Max not only offers HBO’s extensive collection, but also presents productions from Warner Bros.., DC Universe, Discovery, Discovery Home & Health, ID, Cartoon Network, Discovery Kids and Adult Swim.
The programming also includes films from Sony Pictures, live events and local original productions, totaling more than 37 thousand hours of content, more than double what was previously available on the old HBO Max.
Successful series and films such as ‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘Harry Potter’ will continue to be available for fans to enjoy. In general, accessibility to Max will be made easier for HBO Max subscribers.
This is because they only need to access their accounts to explore the expanded catalog. On launch day, former HBO subscribers will have access while maintaining the current plan’s features and price for a set period of time, including those who obtained a 50% discount on their HBO Max subscription.
On the other hand, Discovery+ subscribers will need to purchase one of the three plans offered with monthly or annual payment options, the second alternative has a discount of up to 36%.
Basic plan
With this plan it is possible to watch streaming on two devices simultaneously with Full HD resolution, however, advertisements will be displayed.
In this case, the monthly amount is R$29.90, while the annual fee paid in 12 installments is R$18.90, thus offering a discount of R$132.
Standard Plan
In this mid-range plan, sitters can also watch on two devices at the same time. The difference is that you can make up to 30 downloads to view while offline.
If you choose the monthly plan, it will cost R$39.90, but if you want to save on the annual plan, the value will be R$29.90 per month, representing a reduction of R$112.
Platinum Plan
This is the most complete option, as it allows four simultaneous devices, resolution Full HD or 4K, Dolby Atmos audio and 100 downloads for offline autoplay.
This package is offered for R$55.90 per month or 12x R$39.90 in annual payment in installments. In the last option, the discount is R$192.
