‘Nosferatu’: First image of the remake is terrifying – check it out!

One of the first legends of cinematic horror, Nosferatuis about to be reimagined in the skilled hands of director Robert Eggers, known for his modern epics such as “The Witch” and “The Lighthouse”.

The new film promises to delve into the roots of the genre, staying true to the original concept and transporting viewers to an authentic gothic horror experience. The director has already said that this will be a return to the origins of fear.

Empire has released the first official image from “Nosferatu.” The production, directed by Eggers, is scheduled to hit theaters next year, after having finished filming earlier this year.

In the revealed image, we see the Lily-Rose Deppknown for her role in “The Idol“, completely terrified in front of a mysterious silhouette. A clear nod to the menacing shadow of Nosferatu, which haunted the young protagonist of the original version and which, apparently, will be present in this new adaptation.

The official synopsis says the film will be a gothic tale about an ancient Transylvanian vampire’s obsession with a young girl in 19th-century Germany. Bill Skarsgardfamous for playing Pennywise in the recent “It” films, will play the terrifying vampire.

The director warns that this is a terrifying film, a gothic horror film based on his version of Nosferatu. Eggers, after his adventure in more epic works such as “The Man from the North”, makes a remarkable return to the genre that made him famous.

Eggers said it’s rare to find an old-school gothic film that really strikes fear in recent times.

He believes most would agree with that statement. He also announced that his version will focus more on the persecuted young woman, played by Lily-Rose Depp.

Thus, the recreation of Nosferatu promises not only to rescue the horror original gothic, but highlighting the intensity of fear in a new era of cinema, bringing to light an atmosphere of suspense and dread that had not been seen on screens for a long time.
