The publisher DarkSide announced last Wednesday, the 16th, the launch of its newest comic book: “Bully Bully“. With a script by Yuri Moraes and illustrations by cartoonist Bruno Guma, what we know is that it will be a silent comic book and that it will become part of the collection.
A 13-year-old boy is the protagonist in the first story, which gives the book its title. As he leaves school, he is taken to a knife fight with the daredevils who are dating his ex-girlfriend. Then, the boy must decide whether to fight his enemies and confront the girl or run away.
In “Solo,” he is 23 years old and, in addition to being dissatisfied with his job, his girlfriend has abandoned him. As he struggles to calm his feelings and lead a “normal” life, the boy realizes that something is missing.
In the end, in “½”, now aged 33, the protagonist lives with his fiancée, has a healthy lifestyle and runs every day like an athlete. However, after an accident, he is forced to deal with some prejudices. It is in this context that we follow the character trying to find himself again.
According to the official synopsis, “Bully Bully” is:
“A dive into the construction of a boy’s identity through his dreams, nightmares and disappointments accumulated in three different periods of his life. We will be led through a triad of interconnected stories in which silence echoes in us on every page, the sensory dramas narrated with an acid touch of magical realism. Life experiences that do not represent a territory and its culture…”

Influenced by authors like Neil Gaiman, filmmakers like Hayao Miyazaki and Wes Anderson, as well as comic artists like Charles Burns and Daniel Clowes, “Bully Bully” is an unmissable comic about a childhood that still screams.
